The leopard tortoise (Stigmochelys pardalis) is a large and attractively marked tortoise found in the savanah of Eastern and Southern Africa, they can grow relatively large and attain an average weight of 14kg though some subspecies have been known to weigh more than double this. These strict herbivores get their name from the yellow and black patterns on their shells. These marking are more distinct in younger individuals and fade as they age.
This beautiful 5 year old specimen was hatched here in Malta by her dedicated owners and was brought in to the clinic for a routine physical exam.

Dear Clients,

Good afternoon.

Kindly note the following changes in this week's opening hours from today up until Thursday;

- Today 10th September the clinic will be open in the afternoon from 4-6pm only (instead of 3-6pm).

- Tomorrow 11th September the vet will be here up until 11am only for visits, and then the clinic will also be open from 4-5pm should you need to purchase any food/medication.

- On Thursday 12th September the clinic will be open as usual in the morning up until 1pm with a vet in attendance, but then we will be open again from 5-6pm for food/medication sales only.

Furthermore, please always call before visiting so that we can provide you with an appointment.

Jenday Conures are small Brazilian parakeets with a very big character.
This friendly specimen came in for a check up at Il-Veterinarju and entertained us with his bright colors and even brighter personality. Being a young bird his chest plumage is still green. This will slowly turn bright orange as he matures.

Say hello to the cutest little dachshund - Gigi 🥰

She was so brave whilst having her second vaccination this morning that her doting parents let her choose a new collar from the selection we have available at our clinic from FETCH ❤️

And one thing's for sure, this girl has an eye for style! Great choice Gigi - you're a little fashionista in the making ;)

P.S. We know that it doesn't show much in the photo (puppy energy = lots of blurry photos 😅), but trust us when we say that the flower pattern she chose is b-e-a-utiful on her 🌸🌼🏵️
