Didi is a certified pet sitter and cat behaviourist (ICVAS UK) and has been offering cat boarding services since 2016. Cats are not kept in cages and are free to roam around in the home, just like they would in the comfort of their own home. They will be in the company of three friendly cats as well as any other guests. This is very beneficial to cats, especially ones that are the only pet in the

house, as it helps them interact with their own kind and improve their social skills. They will also have practically 24/7 human interaction, so they can never feel alone or abandoned. Of course every cat is unique and we have come across cats that do not like to interact with other cats, or humans. In that case the cat can choose to stay in a room which is equipped with a large cat tree and plenty of hideouts for privacy :)

Cats would need to be fully vaccinated, neutered and have been given flea / worming treatment. Being a certified cat behaviourist and having met with various cat breeds along the years, Didi has a very good understanding of cat behaviour and characteristics and has given valuable advice on territorial issues, anxiety, fear amongst other issues. Most feline behavioural problems are caused by misunderstandings between humans and cats and both can live in harmony if we learn to understand cats. We do not offer boarding for dogs however we offer dog walking and house sitting (for dogs and cats) in Naxxar and surrounding areas. I recently had the pleasure of taking care of sweet Susu ❤️ Susu is a very special boy as he is diabetic so he needed to have insulin shots twice a day and have specific food. I've had a number of diabetic cats over the years and I have a special soft spot for them ❤️

He was such a sweetheart and was totally chilled, even though it was his first time in the company of other cats. He loved his cuddles and loved being around us so much that he would jump up on our bed every morning. Keep well sweet Susu ❤️

BREED OF THE WEEK - SPHYNX

Hairless cats have been known throughout history and it’s said that the ancient Aztecs kept them. However the Sphynx cat we know today is actually a Canadian breed originating in 1966 from a random genetic mutation.

The Sphynx cat is a unique cat breed known for their soft warm wrinkly skin and peach fuzz coat.

Despite their regal appearance, they are playful and goofy pals who sometimes act more like dogs than cats. They are very affectionate, friendly felines and have a strong need for attention and require their owners to return the love they give.

I'm often asked if cats fight between them for territory when they are free to roam in my home. I think Finlay and Oreo can answer that question well 😸

Finlay the Mainecoon is a solo cat in his home, but he is very sociable and loves to be in the company of other cats. Oreo the Scottish Shorthair has a non bio sibling, and he is laid back and loves his naps. So Finlay would go up to Oreo and just enjoy napping next to his new found buddy 😻

A calm environment helps to keep cats calm and happy ☺️

It is true that I am a crazy cat lady and that I fall in love with every feline I come across, 😻 however I am an animal lover first and foremost, and also enjoy the company of dogs, especially happy, goofy doggos like Gigi 🐶

When introducing a new cat to a household it is very important that there are hideouts that they can go to and feel safe. This allows them to observe the new surroundings from a spot from where they 'think' they can't be seen, and will help them to gain confidence and socialize in a shorter time period.

Today is not a happy Caturday for me, as today I had to say goodbye to my dear friend Doris Camilleri . Doris wasn't just my neighbor, she was a good friend and the best neighbour I could have asked for.

A fellow cat lady who not only welcomed the strays that were in my terrace, but treated them as her own and showered them with love and care. They would all happily gather on her terrace for their early morning feed which she never missed, even when she felt poorly.

She was there to help neuter them and give them medication when they were unwell. She was there throughout Ollie's bad days, and we cried together whilst he was fading away in our arms.

Doris I am missing you terribly already, I miss your witty humour and our daily chats on the kitties, and on life in general. You brought colour to our neighborhood 🧡 The kitties are missing their second mummy too and keep waiting for you to come back home 😿

Your baby Kash, or patatu as you liked to call him, is well and being showered with love, but nothing will replace your squishy hugs whilst he kept you company in your 'little slice of heaven' ❤️

Thank you & good night one last time dear Doris. Rest easy and I hope that wherever you are, there are no road works, dust, noise or heat...but that you are surrounded by cats, beautiful flowers, the sound of birds chirping and lots of colour especially orange and red, which were your favorite xx

The Persian cat is known and loved for its very sweet, gentle, calm disposition. They get along great with kind, respectful kids, but would rather be stroked and admired than engage in strenuous activities. Persians also enjoy the company of other cats and gentle dogs. Persians love to sprawl out in a favorite spot in the home with good vantage points to keep an eye on the goings-on in the household, be it a plush chair or sun-filled window ledge.
