Our hero of the week is Luna, 4 month old kitten weighing only 2kg who fell off a balcony last month and sustained a very nasty fracture in her left foot, very close to the joint.

Luna was operated asap and were very pleased to report a complete bone healing and full recovery just four weeks after surgery.

Way to go dear Luna! 🎉🎉🎉

It’s really uplifting to receive such kind words following a TPLO surgery.

Mr. sparky’sowner gave us permission to share these kind works of thanks on our page.

“…It's a miracle, I have not enough words to thank you for the amazing service and care for Mr Sparky.

I knew he would improve but you reversed time. He is back to puppy movement. Thank you so much to you and your amazing team…”

Meet Sofie, our hero of the week. Sofie, a 3 kg Maltese terrier was run over by a car last week and sustained devastating injuries to her lower abdomen, and multiple fractures to the pelvis together with a detachment from the sacral bone.

Initial investigations confirmed the worst, Sofie needed immediate major emergency surgery to repair a ruptured urinary bladder as urine was leaking in her abdomen causing intoxication and potentially deadly peritonitis.

Sofie made a good recovery and by Sunday her parameters normalized. However it was not over yet as we still had to treat the pelvic fractures.

Sofie underwent major surgery again on Monday and after 5 hrs under anaesthesia we managed to repair both sides and to reattach the pelvis to the sacral bone to facilitate bone healing and repair of the damaged muscle and nerve tissues.

Sofie is now slowly recovering at home with her owners. Soon she will start physiotherapy to help her use her legs again

We wish Sofie the best of luck for a successful recovery. This little creature has been through a lot and deserves all our wishes and prayers.

We'd like to congratulate Dr. Kevin for another milestone achievement in small animal orthopaedics.

The Advanced Certificate in Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery is the highest level of certification available in clinical practice.

A great hooray goes to the team at Pets Clinic particularly Nurse Amanda, Dr Marta, and receptionists Aga and Elena for the combined effort and support.

Today's hero is Tiny, a 1.1kg, 10 week old chihuahua who was bitten by his mum and sustained fracture in his forearm. The only solution was a risky operation as Tiny is both very small and almost too young for surgery.

Luckily, our team is highly trained and well equipped for these cases, so we were able to reduce the fracture using a special titanium micro plate, purposefully made for tiny breeds.

Luckily, everything went well and Tiny was discharged to his anxious owner and back to his adventurous life.

We wish Tiny a speedy recovery. 🥰

🌟🐾 Drumroll please! 🥁🌟

We're thrilled to announce our Hero of the Week: Gigi and his incredible owner, Maria!

Gigi, a stray cat, faced a daunting injury on his forearm that extended up to his elbow. After initial treatment at another clinic fell short, Maria brought him to us for a chance at saving his leg.

Our team sprang into action, tackling Gigi's stubborn infection which hindered the healing process. We then performed surgery, removing dead tissue and applying a full-thickness skin graft from his abundant belly, a testament to Maria's attentive care and Gigi's robust health 😁.

Through the ups and downs of post-op care, Maria's unwavering support and patience shone bright. We're overjoyed to share that Gigi has been now been discharged with a successful graft, thanks to their perseverance and love.

And here's the cherry on top: Maria and her family have decided to officially welcome Gigi into their home! 🏡💖

Wishing this beautiful family all the happiness and adventures ahead. Cheers to Gigi's bright future! 🐾

Our Clinic

Pets Veterinary Clinic opened its doors back in February 2002 with a special focus on quality care for its patients. Since then, the clinic evolved into a veterinary centre, or as we call it, a one stop shop clinic, offering all the basic services and also high end surgery, and diagnostic services thanks to the strong investment in training and equipment. We are a growing practice focused on improving upon our existing services to meet the challenges of the ever growing veterinary market in Malta.
