🐶 How to manage pseudopregnancy symptoms in your dog:

1️⃣ Soothe with cold or warm packs (as recommended by your vet) – Reduces milk production.

2️⃣ Use Elizabethan collar (cone) – Prevents licking/nursing that stimulates lactation.

3️⃣ Consider diet adjustment – Less food = less milk (vet-guided).

4️⃣ No breeding plans? Spaying can prevent future pseudopregnancy episodes.

➡️ Most dogs recover in 2–3 weeks, often without medication.

✅ Bring her in and talk to us to to make sure she’s on the right path to feeling herself again.

🧑🏻‍⚕️ Ever heard of false pregnancy in dogs

This condition is called pseudopregnancy — this happens when a female dog starts displaying signs of pregnancy despite not being pregnant.

What are some of the symptoms? Find out below:

🐶 Behavioural changes (nesting, self-nursing)

🐶 Restlessness or depression

🐶 Enlarged mammary glands

🐶 Abdominal swelling

🐶 Vomiting or anorexia

🐶 Watery or brownish ni**le discharge

These signs usually show up a month or two after heat. If you notice them, it’s best to book a visit and get her checked out.
