Just as we buckle up for safety, our pets should too! Unrestrained pets can distract the driver and put both the driver and pet at risk for serious injury. Here are some tips to keep your pets safe during transit:

🚫 Front Seat Travel: Pets should never be allowed to travel in the front seat. They’re at risk of severe injury or even death if the airbag deploys.

🚫Window and Truck Bed Riding: Don’t let dogs ride with their head out the window or untethered in the back of a truck bed. Both practices can lead to them being thrown from the vehicle in an accident.

Safe Confinement: For cats, confine them to carriers and secure the carrier with a seatbelt. For dogs, consider a special harness attached to a seat belt, or a well-secured kennel.
