*FREE DOG STERILISATIONS*

For the next week we are offering to spay (femaleles) or castrate (males) your dogs for free!!!
Benefits of sterilising include:
* For females: eliminates the risks of uterine and ovarian cancer, reduces the risks of mammary tumours and prevents deadly infection pyometra!
* For males: it eliminates the risks of testicular cancer and reduces risks of prostate problems

• It will also help to control the population: dogs are less likely to roam which can lead to accidents, and reduces the spread of diseases such as TVTs and deadly viruses like rabies! In general dogs are happier and healthier and will live longer🥳
In Malawi there is already a high volume of strays and suffering dogs on the streets, something we see every day.

We have reason to believe he may have been stolen. He was wearing a blue collar at the time.

Shelter Dog Monday 🐶

Handsome Johnny Boy is still in the shelter hoping for someone to notice him!
He was rescued by our Mission rabies officers back in March after being found scared and alone on the streets. We think he was abandoned or went missing from his original home..
He is now the friendliest, most gentle boy and gets on well with all our other dogs❤️

Shelter Dog Monday 🐶

Duchess is still here in the shelter after being found and brought to us several months ago!
She has adapted soo well and is one of our most playful dogs here🥳 She gets along great with other dogs and loves people so much. We are hoping to find her a loving family, preferably with another playful dog she can spend her days with.

Patient of the week 🩺

Little Max was hit by a car and returned home with a severely broken and dislocated jaw!!
Unfortunately a while passed before he made it to our hospital and his injuries had already began healing (in the wrong position of course)
Amazingly, Max was still managing to eat but not well. We decided to try surgery to remove part of the jaw and rewire into a more comfortable position- not an easy task!
The very next day Max was back to his happy self and eating once again❤️
He has been so brave and we are hopeful he will make a full recovery, just looking a bit different🥹 Well done Max!!

Shelter Dog Monday 🐶

Our boy Blackie is still here in the shelter and sadly hasn’t had much interest up til now! You might remember his very sad story- he was rescued in critical condition after boiling water was thrown over him😓
After months of treatment Blackie recovered and moved into the shelter permanently.
He is now a very happy and loving boy and hoping to find a new family after all he has been through!

Patient of the week 🩺

Bruno was reported to us and we quickly sent a team out to find her. Poor Bruno was so weak she didn’t put up any fight when we carried her into the car.
She was severely emaciated and suffering from bad skin disease and tick borne disease!
Back at our hospital she was stabilised and started on treatment immediately, and of course given lots of TLC❤️
Bruno is improving every day.. she is the sweetest girl and has made fast friends with our other patients. We are confident now she will make a full recovery and will finish her treatment in the next few weeks!!
