At times in the Baja, we see things that the rest of the western world is not that accustomed to.. today we were made aware by our friend Michelle, that there was a donkey that desperately needed some help. The female juvenile was hit in the morning early and left in the center of the highway, unfortunately the police could not help help us and her suffering so we did our best to see if she was able to make it and although the vet at Rodeo/ Dr. Williams decided that she needed to be euthanized.Michelle and her family sponsored the vet who came to euthanize this darling sentient being.
While we were on the mission of the loss, we noticed other that were tossed or moved to the side of the highway, and although the situation has been extreme extremely terrible lately, we’ve noticed two other donkeys less than 200 feet away that may have died in the past two days. This area is becoming a graveyard for donkeys. It’s tragic.
A few days ago on my trip to Costco I noticed 7 dead b***os on one side of the highway going south and upon my return, I noticed another 5. That’s 13 last week and so far 3 in the past four days.
We live in a country where the Police & National Guard is unable to shoot a donkey or horse or cow because they say it’s illegal in a federal zone.
Today’s incident happened on a federal highway. The facts are too many wildlife are losing their lives to high speed traffic in our little coastal towns.
Especially between Elias Calles and Cerritos we are finding an extreme number so please be careful drive slowly respect the animals and look for any animals that may need to be reported or helped.

A veces, en Baja California, vemos cosas a las que el resto del mundo occidental no está acostumbrado. Hoy, nuestra amiga Michelle nos informó que había un b***o que necesitaba ayuda desesperadamente. La joven hembra fue atropellada temprano por la mañana y abandonada en el centro de la carretera. Desafortunadamente, la policía no pudo ayudarnos y su sufrimiento fue tal que hicimos lo posible para ver si lograba sobrevivir y, aunque el veterinario de Rodeo, el Dr. Williams, decidió que necesitaba ser sacrificada, Michelle y su familia patrocinaron al veterinario que vino a sacrificar a este adorable ser sintiente.
Mientras estábamos en la misión de buscar a los b***os, notamos que otros b***os fueron arrojados o movidos al costado de la carretera y, aunque la situación ha sido extremadamente terrible últimamente, notamos otros dos b***os a menos de 200 pies de distancia que pueden haber mu**to en los últimos dos días. Esta área se está convirtiendo en un cementerio para b***os. Es trágico.
Hace unos días, en mi viaje a Costco, noté 7 b***os mu**tos en un costado de la carretera que iba hacia el sur y, al regresar, noté otros 5. Son 13 la semana pasada y hasta ahora 3 en los últimos cuatro días.
Vivimos en un país donde la policía y la guardia nacional no pueden dispararle a un b***o, un caballo o una vaca porque dicen que es ilegal en una zona federal.
El incidente de hoy ocurrió en una carretera federal. Los hechos son que demasiadas especies de animales salvajes están perdiendo la vida debido al tráfico a alta velocidad en nuestros pequeños pueblos costeros.
Especialmente entre Elias Calles y Cerritos, estamos encontrando una cantidad extrema, así que tenga cuidado, conduzca despacio, respete a los animales y esté atento a cualquier animal que pueda necesitar ser reportado o ayudado.
