Our 2024 RANCH CAMP was a Huge Success. Our horses and Ranch Team were jazzed to serve the community. Our Pescadero Nonprofit Los Sagrados horse rescue served 20 kids from our community, Teaching them about horses & donkeys: how to care for these large animals with gentlensss & respect, how to look after the herds well being & protect them from harm with a slow mindful gentle approach to handling large animals.

We taught the children the ethics of ranch life, the safety rules when working with horses, basics of riding, walking, grooming and playing games that promote teamwork, leadership and horsemanship.
Horses teach children patience, gentleness, loyalty, and calmness. Horses teach kids mutual respect. We hope the bonds with our rescue horses will last a lifetime, and all our Ranch Camp Kids will come to visit the horses and continue to nourish these bonds. We believe in , and created a safe and calm place for children to learn and feel the outdoors.

BIG Thanks to Artist and Comedian # for creating such a fun art class, with comic style drawings of donkeys and horses, Our Equine based Art therapy class with Habbibi and the hand painted horseshoes were a hit!
We were blessed to have ,. , , & Hedy, Victor Amanda , Aliya for their merit and devotion as ranch helpers & All our volunteers!

Thrilled to share we raised funding for 7 scholarships!! 🙏RESPECT AND GRATITUDE To: Dillon at Teatro Pescadero, for sponsoring local children's scholarships. Your all are Champions !

We were also proud that these Scholarships to Children in our community made this a dynamic fun integrated experience for all to cherish.

Thanks to our for believing in our conscious riding philosophy & the nature based approach to Equine Assisted Learning & . We feel very fortunate to care for these animals and we hope you know it takes a village.

S H I T …we got you covered ! Literally, we sell fresh organic dried high quality horse manure. We also DELIVER and help unload. WE Know our S**t. We care for our manure well according to our friends at treehuggers were impressed with our high quality. Thanks to Cerro Basura
& Jenny Sutton for thinking of how we can up-cycle our waste while we together help the community thrive with all their positive efforts!

Juan Carlos Hernandez has been working with our horses at Los Sagrados ranch for 3 years.

He has felt the impact horses had on his own life, as well as how they can impact and transform other people’s lives. This has led Juan Carlos to learn more about the science and nature of horses in such a way that he’s been contemplating becoming a vet tech. In addition, he would like to deepen his connection and contribution to the community by studying equine assisted therapy including children with disabilities.

Juan Carlos has been a caring, kind, compassionate and openhearted to all who have visited our ranch.

And last, but not the least, he’s been the Herd’s hero - caring for the horses with so much love and dedication during these hot summer days!

We are so grateful for him and to have him being a part of the family!

Have you heard of the Butterfly Effect?
It is the notion that the world is deeply interconnected, such that one small occurrence, like the flapping of the butterfly wings, can influence a much larger complex system, like the weather.

This metaphor is a great reminder that our (sometimes) small acts of kindness can go a long way. And that it doesn’t matter the size of your gift, it could still have a larger impact than you can imagine.

With that said, if you feel like helping but don’t know how or feel like your gift wouldn’t matter, please consider this idea of the butterfly effect and head over to our bio for ways to help us!

This morning we went to check on Pequeño, we brought him water and food, he was thirsty in this heat because it was over 💯 degrees here.

Our mission is to help our community care for these beautiful creatures and we understand sometimes it can be difficult for owners to give the care that’s needed, and we are here to help and support.
Ways we help

Creating awareness
Bringing food and water to horses and donkeys in need.
Creating safe space with shade for the safety of the horses in the summer high temperatures.
