Thank you Chris Gallo! At first I wasn’t in love with this song🤷♀️Now I’m obsessed as we truly are seeds and from the ashes came the rain which gave us growth and an abundance of food, flowers and now we start again! I’ve canceled most rides for the last few weeks due to heat but today we have a breeze, it may be momentary but I will take it! I’m sorry if you were among the many cancellations it hurts all of us but my babies can’t do it! I’m trying to do early morning and golden hour but scheduling cowboys is also a challenge❤️ bear with me and let us NEVER be mad at rain!!!

🏆 HORSE SPOTLIGHT OF THE MONTH: AMOS & ANDY 🏆
If you know Amos & Andy, you know we had to post them together, since they are an inseparable pair.
These brothers were born in Canada in May 2004 and were raised in the beautiful mountains of Whitefish, Montana.
In 2016 we decided it was time for these boys to live the rest of their days in the wide open plains of our ranch and showed them the beaches of Mexico for their first time!
They love life down here, south of the border. ☀️
They are registered Tennessee Walkers with 1/4 Clydesdale & Hackney bred to pull carts - needless to say they’re big boys!!!
Super tall and strong!!
We don’t make ‘em pull anything but they’ve come to love trail riding with us and quickly stealing the hearts of many… it’s endearing how they really truly never leave each other’s sides. They’re such a good team.

Here’s to us… a mother/daughter type dynamic duo whose love is deep, bond is foreva and belly cackling laughter is loud enough to be heard from ranches away 😂😂😂
Marty is the Matriarch of Baja by Horse and all things Rancho La Pila and it’s been an honor for McKenzie to learn the ropes (pun intended, duh) a bit and help out when she can - from the digital landscape to the trail rides she guided when Mama Marty was down with that damn broken hand (we did eventually forgive the tree, pictured in slide #2). Anyway. Sometimes some folks come into your life and become family. This is one of those stories.💓🐎🎉🌻

My BFF Frank and I sure tore up some ground when he visited. I won! Finally beat him LOL I miss my friend so much but 3-5 days of riding makes him think Fear the Walking Dead looks better :) Come back amigo!OR I come to Austin!!!

Having spent her childhood visiting La Mision, Mexico with her family, Marty later went on to eventually call it home. Meet Oscar Gonzalez
Famous Rodeo outrider and lasso extraordinaire, Oscar has called La Mision his home since birth. We go back farther than either of us care to remember and discover new twine that ties our families pasts together daily as we ride the trails. Solid and loyal Oscar treats each rider with care and compassion that may find you weaving your own story about him when you return home! He is the best of the best and not only a solid Vaquero he is the shoer, the trainer, the handler...... you get the idea he is pretty darn awesome and an amazing member of Baja by Horse!
Meet Antonio Lara
Antonio has spent many years as my right hand and will continue to be a part of Baja by Horse in some fashion as it is impossible to not have him as a member of the team. If you are lucky he will join on an adventure to the ranch and create a memory like no other. He has a kindness and skill that go beyond the average human. His innate ability to land you in amazing terrain, discover and see beyond the average eye is awe inspiring!
Meet Ricardo Morgan
Owner: Ricardo is the longest known member and owner of the business as his father worked for me umpteen years ago when he was only a twinkle in the Legendary Esteban’s eye! After getting through diapers, youth, pr***en and now a father, this young man has grown the most of any of the vaqueros I know! He is savvy, fun loving, almost as good looking as his Dad, and an all around a fantastic person. I love my weekends with Ricardo, so will you!
Meet Jorge Valdiviezo
My most honored and trusted member of the team! Jorge is my right hand and will be yours one day too! If you get to ride with him count yourself lucky but if not he may be your chauffeur to the wine country or an overnight ride to the ranch but I guarantee you he will be your friend and lifeline sometime in yours or your kids life! He is that person who will help with whatever it takes. The rarest of friends Jorge is top of my list and will be with us forever!
