This dog was tied to a tree about 2 cm long by his "owners." The neighbors did nothing. Today it was reported to us, and we went out and took him.
This happens all the time in the "World's Best Small City" of San Miguel de Allende. Until we have new laws and enforcement, it will continue to happen every day in this city.
We end the week with some music by the delightful Mezkal trio. They will be playing at our event this Thursday evening. Come on out and and hear them.

Did you know that our Shelter Director at our shelter in San Miguel de Allende is a veterinarian? We are very pleased to have Dr. Susana on staff to make sure all our vaccines are up to date and our dogs are healthy.

We are pleased to announce that our Puppy and New Mother Center is now open at our shelter in San Miguel de Allende. The puppies that we rescue are almost always sick. The new mothers are usually malnourished. They now will have 24/7 care and receive the attention they need.

At the Lucky Dogs shelter in San Miguel de Allende, we do not put our dogs in cages. We do not put our dogs in crates. We let them play. We let them run. We let them form friendships. We let them be dogs.

Hombrecito is the bigger dog in this video. He is a 10-month-old male that is available for adoption.
As you can see in this video he loves to play and loves other dogs. He is currently being fostered but needs to find his forever home soon.

We have expanded our Community Outreach Program in Los Laureles, which is on the outskirts of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. We have opened a small Outreach Center, which is very basic, but better than the street.
Our shelter is full, so the the Outreach Center is home to a new mother and her 7 puppies. They will stay here, where they will be safe, receive food, and receive vet care. When space opens in our shelter we will take them in.
We extend a special thanks to Mauricio, a resident of Los Laureles and head volunteer at the Outreach Center. Mauricio and others like him are trying to make a difference in their neighborhood, and we are grateful to him.
