Your dog loves being the center of attention, you can celebrate this holidays with your dog with a Christmas photo shoot. 🐶🥰📸

You’ll want to make sure your location has good lighting, dogs don’t like flashes, so avoid using one for your photo.
Putting your dog by a Christmas tree or with holiday décor in the background is always nice.
Dressing up might not be as fun for your dog as it is for you. If your dog isn’t accustomed to wearing clothing, practice with them in advance. But be sensitive to their feelings, if your dog shows signs of stress, don’t push it.
Give your dog lots of playtime and exercise before your photo shoot. A tired dog is more likely to stay chill and still for photos. If your dog doesn’t like to stay still for photos do it while they are lying down.
Just keep clicking the camera instead of waiting for the right pose because it may just result in that perfect, candid snapshot.🎄😍❤️

With the colder temperatures, dogs may run and play a lot more, since they don't overheat as easily, and they may get dehydrated. Also your dog may not be as likely to drink on their own when it’s cold out, so be sure to keep an eye on their water bowl and ensure your dog is drinking water. 💧🐶

To ensure your dog drinks enough water, provide a constant supply of fresh water, whether at home, on walks or at the beach. A hydrated canine is a happy and healthy one, so make sure you don’t make the mistake of decreasing their water supply this winter.🐶😃

Your dog’s daily walk is likely one of the highlights of their day.🐾🐶😃

Teach your dog to walk with a loose leash (having the leash hang down in a “J” shape between you) by stopping and changing direction whenever he gets ahead of you. When he turns to catch up, reward him with praise and the chance to keep walking. Only let your dog walk when the leash is slack. The loose leash will eliminate pressure on his throat and prevent you from triggering his opposition reflex. If you already have a determined puller, consider using a training harness or head harness while you work on developing your dog’s polite walking skills.🐾🦮

There are two reasons why loose-leash walking is one of the most important skills to teach your dog.
The first, and most obvious, is comfort. A dog pulling and jerking on a leash makes for an unpleasant walking experience, and your arm, shoulders and/or back may pay the price of all that pulling. 🐕😃
The second is safety. A dog walking under control and focused attentively on its handler is less likely to dart out in front of a car, bicycle or runner causing injury to itself or someone else. 🐾🐶

Feeding a puppy. 🐶🦴🐾

Since puppies are growing rapidly, they need small, frequent feedings. For the first few months of a puppy’s life, they will need small meals of food throughout the day as they transition from their mother’s milk to solid food. 🍼🐩

Puppies two to four weeks of age do well with feedings every 6-8 hours. Puppies between 8 to 12 weeks of age should eat three times a day, spaced out somewhat evenly. This regularity in mealtime helps prevent blood sugar drops, especially in very small breeds. 🦴🐾🍗

A regular feeding schedule helps with house training puppies, since they generally need to relieve themselves within 10 to 15 minutes of eating a meal. By linking a 'potty stop' with a meal we not only allow ourselves to predict when the pup needs a trip outside, we allow the puppy to learn to associate the urges to urinate and defecate with being in the appropriate location. 🐶😀🏠

If you choose to dress up your dog for halloween, make sure the costume isn’t uncomfortable, constricting or unsafe for your pet and isn’t causing them stress.🧛‍♂️👻
Keep your dog out of the candy bowl. Candy is pretty bad for dogs, they contain the artificial sweetener xylitol that can be poisonous to dogs. Chocolate can be fatal, since it contains Theobromine, which can cause nerve damage and even death. 🍭🍫🍬

Why dogs like squeaky toys?🥎

When your dog is chomping on a squeaky toy, your dog might think he is hunting. Of course, he knows the toy isn't alive, but because the squeaker triggers dog prey drive, your dog likely won't leave the squeaky toy alone until the squeaker stops making that noise. 🐶🦴🐾

Many dogs also enjoy the instant gratification they get from repeatedly gnawing on that squeaker. As they bite down and a noise occurs, the pleasure center of their brain lights up. They keep squeaking to experience that feeling again and again. 🐶😃🥎
