We did everything possible for our sweet Maria.

Last night she left her body and transitioned to her next life, pain free. She was not alone. She left us being surrounded by pure love.

Thank you to everyone who donated for Maria’s care. We have another rescue we just brought in, who has 8 puppies in tow, so any funds that could not be allocated to her ongoing care will help us with with so many others ♥️

🚨 Important Update 🚨

New CDC regulations will disrupt international animal rescue efforts and make it harder for families returning to the U.S. with their pets. Effective August 1, 2024, these rules will impact dogs from both high-risk and low-risk rabies countries, complicating rescue missions and travel plans.

Key Points:

Prohibited Entry for Dogs Under 6 Months: No dogs under six months old can enter the U.S.

Proof of No High-Risk Exposure: Dogs over six months must show no high-risk rabies country exposure for six months before arrival.

Potential Quarantine: If proof can’t be provided, dogs face possible quarantine.

Airlines’ New Burden: Airlines must check dogs’ documentation without specialized training, risking errors and potential refusals to transport dogs.

These changes could hinder our efforts to rescue vulnerable dogs. Despite aiming to prevent rabies, these requirements may cause more harm than good by delaying or stopping rescue operations.

Stay informed and prepared for these new regulations to avoid delays. Let’s continue to advocate for sensible solutions that protect public health without compromising animal welfare.

🚨 Urgent transport needed 🚨

We need your help! Our wonderful BB (black beauty) has an adoption in place, but we need to pull our resources together and get her to Seattle or Portland via Alaska Airlines after June 18th!! Do we know anyone who is currently in Sayulita/PV that can bring this sweet lady (who has been through SO much) to her forever home? Looking for a FOREVER home or longterm Foster for the wonderful Stephy!

Stephy is a lovely brindle mexi mutt looking for a home. Her foster family loves her but has a disabled roommate, which has made their living situation a bit more challenging - so they need to relocate her to a new home. She is beyond sweet , and almost 2 years old.

Her backstory : Found on the street, malnourished and in heat in Sayulita, we took her in, got her spayed, vaccinated and treated for worms/tics. She is healthy and super active and needs leash training and socializing, but is a total lover .. she loves sticks and snuggles!

PM us if you think she might be a good fit for you. While Steph has not been around kids, slow and steady introductions would allow her to integrate into any family setting. She is also good with cats!

It’s absolutely incredible what one month of rehabilitation can do. Our last post was the discovery of this sweet baby- abandoned, starving, sick.

Fast forward to now, and we have a thriving dog.

We can’t do any of this without your help, and we’re feeling especially vulnerable as we head into our peak travel times again.
