Helping PMP wish you all a Happy Holiday...Pippi & Daisy!

Pippi (Black Pug) and Daisy (Brindle "Bugg") are sisters to our dear client, Chloe (last picture)!

After seeing Chloe's sessions, Daisy and Pippi joined the ranks to adress spinal and hip tensions between the two. Pippi is 4yrs and Daisy is 11yrs. Tensions and health complications can happen at any age and massage is wonderful to get ahead for bodily health!

Welcome this doggie duo...Charlie & William! These little steamboats and all their blurry glory 😂 I was lucky to snag a few that were clear!

Charlie (L) and William (R) are brothers who both have had their fair share of orthopedic complications from CCL repairs, IVDD flare-ups, and of course bodily tensions and overcompensation.

We've been working together for a while and, in tandem with their swimming and PT, they have really hit their stride! They are such rambubctious lil guys and they deserve to keep zipping by at the speed of hound 😆

I also included a sneaky pic of Javi at the end who sometimes come to visit on massage day so he can snag a session! There is quite literally too much cuteness to contain in one room 🤩

HOUND DOGS! Welcome Wi******er (R) & his brother Waylon (L) - you can really tell the resemblance in the ears 😍

While Wi******er is the "primary" massage dog, Waylon likes to sneak in for kisses and a touch of work on himself (or else he will perform the many songs of his people 😅), so it would be wrong not to include him in our welcome post. Plus, they are just so dang cute together 🥰

Wi******er has quite a few problems that result in pain. His main concern is a build up of scar tissue, from a historical injury before being rescued, in his neck/jaw which triggers TMJ dysfunction. This is not only painful but can be debilitating.

When Wi******er's mama reached out, he was skipping meals and was so uncomfortable trying to eat 😢 So SO SOO! happy to share that after his first session, he was gobbling up his hard kibble which he had stopped doing for a while. With his regular sessions, Wi******er's eating has stabilized and his gait is improving, too. Being a hound dog, he was bound to have limb and back complications as well. Sweet boy ❤️‍🩹

Welcome Payton! Sugar-coated and extra sweet 🥰🍬 What a kissable little face~

Payton is a 14yr old lab cattle dog rescue with a long medical history (managed), a prior TPLO surgery for a CCL tear, and is now struggling with bad arthritis. 💥

Payton's parents reported he could no longer sit on command which is a big indicator that your companion can be in discomfort. Many times I hear things akin to "they just got stubborn now that they're old", which is most often not accurate. Dogs who love to please will continue to do so when they are older, but their bodies can slow down and become painful for them. Even though they most likely would LOVE to interact how they once did, their bodies have become limited. So PLEASE never force your dog into a sit position if they are not willingly doing it on command. 🙏🏻 Always tell your vet of these developments too and get an evaluation.💫

Luckily, Payton's pet parents saw these signs and reached out for including massage into his therapy plan. He is still learning the ropes but he is such a very good boy and reallllly enjoys work on his sore, overcompensating shoulders. So happy to bring you relief, buddy! 🤗

Officially welcoming this dapper gentleman...Reggie! Can't you just picture him in a monocle and top hat?! 😆💕

Reggie is a 10yr old bulldog rescue who had been experiencing a lot of hind limb weakness and discoordination.

Ataxia is the technical term for this where the dog will appear clumsy, imbalanced, or show difficulty with basic functioning. Sometimes coined as the "drunken sailor" - where they trip easily, can't keep balance while walking, or sway while standing in one place.

If you see these signs, reach out to your Primary and/or Physical Therapy Vet right away to evaluate their physical and neurological states (sometimes both are affected). Nonetheless, there's most often lots of ways to help them. ⬇️

So glad to report that after Reggie started his physical therapy and massage regimine, his balance and strength have greatly improved! He isn't swaying when standing, he doesnt lose balance as much, his himdlimb muscles are slowly coming back, and he is much more comfortable. 🥰

A stray Beagle girlie came running up in the alley today. We took her to the police station, as she is a repeat loose dog in the neighborhood, apparently.

Luckily, contacted Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation to work together with the police station on temporarily holding her until they could contact the owner. The owner seems to have posted on FB they are looking for a new home for "Princess" after struggling with her.

She is super sweet and showing signs of malnutrition. Seems relatively young but didn't get an age. She barks at dogs but seems friendly and playful with them, based on the short walk we took her on. Realllllly loved my husband.

Please DM me if you would be interested in fostering or adopting her. I will be happy to coordinate between the groups.

Welcome Vesper! She is certainly happy to meet you!! 😁

Vesper is a 12yr old Australian Sheperd mix who was slowing down and started having mobility issues. She really loves to play at the park so this was a big blow for her!

Her parents reached out for senior joint care and we've been working on her wellness plan for home care and preventative measures as well. At first, she thought humans were just for playing around, but she is starting to understand how massage therapy works! So proud of you, Vesper 🥰

We help provide care measures that encompass an animal's whole day, not just during the massage session such as reviewing what happens when they wake up to their daily routines to how they sleep. Chloe is a 16yr old "bug" (pug/boston terrier) who is also aptly described as an ANGEL 🥰

Chloe has quite a lot working against her but her very dedicated pet parents are doing everything possible to make sure she is happy and comfortable. Massage has become a part of her comprehensive wellness plan and she has been moving better and with more strength after our sessions.

I am indeed a sucker for a sugar coated face and Chloe is certainly sweet as candy 🍬

🌈 Run free, Commander Riker 🌈

You were taken too early, my friend and you will be so dearly missed.

From the first day we met, you were a loving, silly, goofball with such a happy glimmer in your eyes. I will miss how you would flop your whole, giant body back for chest rubs and how you would bat your big arms at me if I stopped.

I always loved our sessions together, hearing about your progress and learning your needs of the week so I could help. You were quite the professional, big-boy gentleman and we are so proud of you.

As a big boy, your body tried to hold you back, but you did so so well on your wellness plan. You were improving so much...so its even harder to think that your time has come, but I know all that means is you were comfortable and the happiest you could be.

This will never feel fair, but we can take some solace in knowing you are pain-free and running wherever your soul wishes to be. Your mama and kitty siblings will always welcome you when you visit them, my dear. Make it so, Number 1.

I am so very honored to have been part of your loving care team to allow your spirit to shine brighter and brighter. Thank you for such wonderfully warm and happy memories.

Welcome Coco Bean!!! The sweetest lil chocopup 🍫🐶✨️

Coco Bean is a 13yr old German Sheperd with progressing back limb complications and is also an avid swimmer! 🌊

Her mama reached out to help build strength and make her swims both easier for her as well as more effective in helping her limbs 💪🏻

Coco has the sweetest bork chorused by her 2 younger siblings 🤭 and truly is sweeter than confections!

Help me officially welcome this gentle giant...Smalls! 🤗 Doesn't he have the sweetest eyes?!~

Smalls (right) is a 1yr old Cane Corso who is our tripawd Nova's brother! Miss Nova (left) gives me a serious side eye now that we are working with her brother, but she forgives each week...I think. 😅

Mr. Smalls is obviously anything but, and he is sweeeeet as can be. As a big boy, of course, he thinks himself a lap dog and will lean his whole body on you (so brace yourself!). 🤣

We are working to loosen the tension in that big body of his and keep him running with his sister. 🥰

Welcome Miss Peppa Pit! She's so happy to meet you she couldn't help but smirk~ 😊

Peppa is a 10yr old pit mix rescue who has the cutest, floppy, side-swiped ears you can behold 😩💕 Peppy Jones has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and bilateral knee arthritis, while assessing for possible ccl tears now 😓

Despite all these conditions, Peppa remains a sweet, full-body leaning, loving, little lady - who obviously deserves to be pain free and heathily mobile! 💪🏻

Luckily, her pet mama is a human massage therapist and understands the importance of massage therapy and bodywork. Peppa is scheduled for Rehab Therapy soon to add modalities to her wellness plan (YAY!), while our in-home massage therapy sessions will target her overcompensated muscle tension/trigger points, work to increase her ROM, help maintain strength, and, of course, provide pain relief. 💫

Welcome the one, the only... Commander Riker! 😍 What a BIG, beautiful, sweet, cuddly Newfie baby bear- uuuh, I mean, boy. 😚

Riker is a 10yr Newfoundland with both bilateral hip dysplasia AND bilateral elbow dysplasia. That's a lot of affected joints!

Newfies are predisposed for both conditions which is congenital and confirmed with x-rays. Dysplasias are considered a progressive condition but treatable and the earlier it is caught and treated, the better the animal's chances at good quality of life and longevity.💪🏻

This is one reason why it is so important to stay on top of vetwork and preventative care for your pet. From an orthopedic perspective, these joints involved will become arthritic in time (as well develop additional complications). 💥

Physical therapy and therapeutic modalities, including massage, will help to not only relieve pain, but facilitate ligament/tendon healing, prime surrounding muscles for strengthing, relieve compensation and release trigger points that limit their natural range of motion which leads to asymmetry/weakness/gait instability, nourish joints to slow progression, process swelling - the list goes on and on. 💫

Ultimately:
Early Prevention & Awareness = Increased Quality of Life/Longevity

So, in the words of Picard: "Make it so, Number One" 😁

Welcome the Greek King of Gods himself...Zeus! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ He does not disappoint his legend 😍

is a 6yr old English Bulldog rescue who was recently adopted and started showing signs of hip and back tension. 💥

From an orthopedic standpoint, Bulldog conformations increase the likelihood of muscle tension and trigger points but also increase risk of early onset arthritis, spinal conditions, joint disease, injuries, and on. Of course, we still love them all the same and they are amazing pups! 💗

His new mama wants to repay the joy he brings her everyday for being the bestest boy and knows he deserves to be as healthy and pain-free as possible! 💯

Welcome this adorable gem...RUBY! 💖 Can you EVEN with dis faaace!!!

Little Miss Ruby is an 8yr old Cavalier beauty with osteoarthritis in her knees and hips. OA, yet again, taking a painful effect on our sweet babies 💥

Ruby's gait showed heavy stiffness in her hindlmbs and a lot of compensation off her pained joints. Gait instability or changes are a big indicator that there is something "more" going on in your companion's body. Always get a vet evaluation when you notice gait changes like head bobbing, limping, low head carriage, stiff straightened back or arching of the spine, etc. 👀

Ruby was lucky her pet mama noticed her changes so she could reach out to us and get professional help to aid her gait and pain. So happy to be part of your dedicated care team, Ruby girl! 🥰
