Persatuan Rakan Kucing Malaysia (PRKM) and Pet Universe Join Forces to Advance Cat Welfare in Malaysia.

In a landmark move to improve pet welfare across the nation, Persatuan Rakan Kucing Malaysia (PRKM) and Pet Universe signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at Wisma Pet Universe. This collaboration solidifies their shared commitment to raising awareness of cat welfare and promoting responsible cat ownership, while emphasizing the growing role of pets as integral members of the family unit.

The signing ceremony marked a new chapter of cooperation between PKRM,an organization committed to advocating for the welfare of cats, and Pet Universe, a leading provider of high-quality pet care services, including pet food, grooming, academy, hotel and veterinary medical centre run run by vet strategic partner.

A Shared Mission for Better Pet Welfare

This partnership builds on the initiative introduced last year by YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail, Member of Parliament Bandar Tun Razak, and Patron of PRKM, during the launch of the Madani Cat Park. It reflects a united effort among government bodies, NGOs, and private organizations to elevate pet welfare standards in Malaysia.

The MoU focuses on:
• Strengthening collaborative efforts to enhance cat welfare and protection across the country.
• Promoting public education on advancements in pet care, particularly through services like cat hotels and veterinary practice.
• Launching community-driven initiatives to foster responsible pet ownership and improve the well-being of cats and other pets.

Uniting Expertise and Resources

PRKM will play a key role in educating the public about responsible cat care practices, while Pet Universe will provide its top-tier facilities and expertise. The partnership includes organizing workshops, seminars, and activities designed to engage and educate the community on how to care for pets as cherished family members.

“This MoU represents a shared commitment to the welfare of cats in Malaysia,” said Encik Mohd Edi Armishah Bin Mohamed, the Secretary of Persatuan Rakan Kucing Malaysia (PRKM). “Together, we aim to raise awareness and provide resources to ensure our feline friends receive the care they deserve.”
