I was going to share the story of the bath sessions with 5 cats last weekend, but this was shared by our partner (Strays Don't Cry Ningbo) and I thought this is more important. Recently, there is an increasing trend in the number of abandoned cats with breeds in China. The trend of having a cat started way earlier over there, hence now is the time when problems and commitment kick in, leading to a wave of abandonment. Various platforms were exhausted in their struggle to save these furry little ones, but they just could not seem to catch up with the speed of new cases every now and then. Not only are shelters overwhelmed, there is a huge number of cats awaiting to be discharged from hospitals too. Yet, reports of abandoned cats spotted in different locations seem endless. Please keep in mind that the furry ones should be a part of your family. They are not a toy, not a reward for your children's achievements in their academic performances, not a gift in a relationship, and definitely not a tool for video-making. Please think twice, thrice, quadrice and more before you decide to take in a cat, be it adopting or buying. We advocate adopting the strays but we do not hold any prejudice against getting a cat of your liking as long as you stick to the little one for the rest of its life. Having a cat is not a trend, and it should never be. It is a lifelong responsibility with commitment and a certain amount of burden economically. Besides food and other supplies, there is also medical bills that you should be ready for. You may opt for more economical choices when it comes to supplies and food but there are no cheap and convenient options when you are dealing with medical conditions. For example, we saved 2 sporo cats since end of last year. Sporo is not something that can be treated with cream and medicated baths like any other fungal infections. You need to get them good medications and supplements to boost their immune system. Each cat would take around 5-6 m
As cat butlers, we cannot avoid from the job of cleaning the litter pans every day. 🧞 At the Meowses household, we have 7 pans lying around the house, hence keeping all of them clean is one of the most important tasks on our daily to-do list. Do you know that cat litter of good quality makes the experience so much more delightful and simple? 🤩🤩 Cature Tofu Cat Litter has all these amazing features that make our lives easier: - low dust 🏖️ - clumps well (easily scooped without breaking) ✊🏻 - flushable 🚽 - eliminates odor 👃🏻 📝 Litter pan-related tips at Meowses: 1. We scoop the litter at least twice per day (morning & evening). 🌅🌄 2. Poops are usually removed immediately upon discovery. 😸💩 3. Deodorising spray is applied after every round of scooping. 🌼 4. We keep the number of litter boxes in the house by the N+1 rule (we have 6 cats now, so there are 7 litter boxes). 🪤 5. We keep the litter at a consistent depth of 5 cm (2 inches) by replenishing new ones every so often. This is to avoid accumulation of pathogens among the litter as we do not have access to sunlight for sterilisation. If you do not scoop your litter as often as us, or if you do not prepare as many litter boxes according to the number of cats you have, please keep the litter at a depth of 8-10 cm (3-4 inches) for better clumping and odor eliminating performance.📏 Despite the number of cats we have, we never received any stench-related complaints, all thanks to Cature Tofu Litter! 😍😍 P/S: 2 litter pans seen in this video were taken right before the litter was discarded and the pans washed, hence the lower than usual level of litter in it. Let's talk about our 'Brand Story' today. How did we start? Our cats have been fed a fully wet diet for at least 3 years now. Besides ordering their wet food from a supplier, we do add in canned food to ensure that they get all the nutrients they need (just in case). We are picky when it comes to canned food choices, as we pay attention to nutrient content, meat quality, and how much the furry ones like it. There was a brand from the US that we have been feeding since the beginning of our wet diet journey, but it got recently discontinued from the pet store we frequented. We began the long search for quality cans locally, but that was when we realised that the choices out there are just so limited. This was when I turned to Strays Don't Cry due to the vast variety of cans that they offer, and I trust them in their quality and care for the furry kids. Who are they? Strays Don't Cry is an NGO focusing on saving all cats (regardless of breed, condition, age etc.) in need in Ningbo, China. As you may have guessed it, I got engaged with them during my time in Ningbo, volunteering at the shelter on a weekly basis and providing foster care to a cat that was waiting for a home.
