Dear pet parents, feeding just meat alone to your furkids will never provide all of the nutrients they required.

Our pet’s body actually breaks down carbohydrates first than other nutrients? This is because the carbohydrates are relatively simple to be broken down to become the readily available energy for the body cells. As if there is no carbohydrates available, protein will only be the second option to be broken down into smaller chain of protein (peptide) and amino acids in order to obtain the glucose. Bear in mind that, breaking down protein would take a longer and more effort intensive progress than breaking down the carbs.

Imagine when you have to spare some of the amino acids for the body protein synthesis while reserving some to extract energy during the slow breakdown process of protein. Do you think would that be fast and efficient to build your pets muscle instead of supplying some carbs as the readily energy while reserving the protein portion for the body protein synthesis?

p/s: The concept works similar to human body as well.

We often hear from pet parents comparing BARF raw food and homemade cooked food. Did you know that studies have found there is actually no significant difference in digestibility between feeding raw ingredients before and after they were cooked? As long as the food is being gently cooked, it can actually preserve the nutrients within while ensuring the pathogens present in the food are killed. Which is why, cooked food has always been repeatedly advised to be fed as the therapeutic diet among health-problematic or senior furkids.

To be honest, pet parents are suggested to do rotational feeding between dry, wet and semi-moist food as it allows a well-balanced and complete approach to the nutrient intake for our furkids and can creates even more excitement during mealtimes. 🥰
