MAWA made a few rounds to look for the dogs around klinik kesihatan Kajang and area around the and including the drainage. There is no sign of the dog anywhere. Dr Maha who is the informer, also looking around for the dog.

Glad to share, last week MAWA was given 10.minutes to present the Stray Free Kajang proposal MPKJ.
The meeting was with YDP of MPkJ along with Adun Sungai Jelok, YB David Chong. YDP made it clear that he is not keen to hear the TNRM proposal but if anything else he will listen.
Wisely used our 10 minutes to present the proposal. YDP was keen and he instructed the director to get the proposal presented in their monthly meeting with other stakeholder.
Stay tuned Kajang Folks. We will push for something with Kajang council.

Every time there is a new shelter scam exposed, we noticed a drastic drop in our donation . As usual it was time for us to withdraw money to pay our shelter helpers their monthly allowance and food money. It is also the time we pay our rental, utility bills and buy the monthly shelter cleaning detergents and clorox.
I saw a drop of a good 20% percent in our monthly donation. The amount collected was sufficient to pay workers salary only.
We still need some RM2k to pay our rental.
MAWA is seeking help to get some kind souls to help us with the rent. Landlord is pretty firm with this.

I just came back from awake and my wife was coming out from the house compound and we noticed this box outside of the house.. Guess what, we found bundles of joy inside the box... A God sent angel has dumped 9, one month old puppies outside our shelter. Thanks for adding the number yeah.

More than 20 dogs were suspected to have been poisoned over the past week, particularly around Lembah Permai in Tanjung Bungah.
we were informed that the police had es**rted the abuser out of the house today. on the other hand, the eyewitness received a call from DVS to provide a statement. Hope the abuser is taken for statement and remand for a few days.

Weird.
Day by day, I get to see more and more Malay friends feeding and rescuing dogs. I'm so moved with their efforts despite the restriction they have... But unfortunately this dog catching thing is still never ending... Extremely sad to get such news.
As an NGO, in the last few years, we have tried speaking to MPKJ and MPSJ to convince them to practice TNRM but no news from them till date...no efforts from any Majlis to join venture with NGOs except for 1 or 2 states.
When can we put an end to this cruelty??
What upsets me more is not the animal abusers but Malaysia and it's way of handling the strays
All they want is some food to fill their empty stomach and freedom to move around 😭. What's wrong with it?

we would like to clearly inform that taking the dog away immediately was our intention but we also want to see if DVS will investigate this case since they told rescuers and NGOs don't have the rights to take out the dog.
we have clearly mentioned in the report that if no investigation done, mawa.will need police es**rt to remove the 2 doggos.

We have asked the witness to report to dvs. At the same time we will approach the police to es**rt us to remove the dog out of the abusive owner. The first part of the video, the man was using metal to hit the dogs, second part he was using hose pipe to hit them.
This has been happening for some time according to witnesses. we have asked the witness to lodge a report with DVS and Police. we hope they don't delay and wait for us to take away the dog.

Support Needed for the Perennia Rimbayu Rescue Operation

On behalf of Malaysian Animal Welfare Association ( MAWA) We have recently undertaken one of our most significant rescue operations to date, saving a total of seven dogs near Perennia Rimbayu. This pack, consisting of a mama dog and her five pups (the fifth pup took hours and a night to find), along with an adult male dog, were frequently seen running back and forth on the main road, causing us constant concern for their safety.
Thanks to our dedicated team and compassionate volunteers, these dogs have been safely captured and are currently under quarantine. However, the real challenge begins now. We urgently need your support to cover the costs of neutering/spaying, boarding, vaccination, and eventual adoption for these dogs.

We have been informed by a concerned citizen named Suren that a rottweiler was found sleeping in front of DIY C180 at Cheras Selatan. We advised Suren to take the dog to Animed Vet Balakong, which was nearby, due to potential risks, as we were occupied with other matters at the time. Fortunately, Suren was able to act swiftly and take the rottweiler to the vet right away. After admission, the vet informed us that one side of the rottweiler's ears was infected with maggots, which had deeply burrowed into her skin. Additionally, the rottweiler is unable to stand, and the vet suspects it may have a joint problem, although an x-ray will be required to confirm this. We understand that this is not an ideal situation for the dog, and we want to do everything we can to assist. Please find attached a quote from the vet outlining the expenses that will be incurred to treat the rottweiler. We kindly request your support in covering her medical expenses and treatment. the making of Tortoise 🐢 Banglow at MAWA shelter. these tortoises been with us for last couple of years. they were kept in a small pond. since we had some time during the weekends, we constructed the Banglow for them.
