ARE BRITISH SHORTHAIRS GOOD INDOOR CATS?
Typically British Shorthairs are excellent indoor cats, as they are pretty laid back and enjoy spending their time just laying in their favourite spots for hours. Just make sure they will get all the nourishment and exercise, and you will have a great indoor companion for years.
Having said that if you have a bit of garden they will enjoy an occasional run for it and allowing your cat to spend some time outdoor might bring a lot of mental and physical benefits.
There are a few factors that you need to consider :-
* What is the personality of your cat?
* Can he be left alone without getting depressed?
* Will he destroy your furniture if left alone?
* How much time will you have to accommodate for grooming?
* Can he live with kids or any other animals?
* And finally but most importantly – Will he be happy living indoors?
1.GREAT PERSONALITY.
👉The British Shorthair is very relaxed and laid back, which makes him a great indoor cat. Both male and female like to keep their cool and pretend that they do not care about the World. Rather than being a lap cat demanding constant attention and petting, you will find him following you around the house and inspecting everything you do. You can think of him as a “good old friend”, always there for you, interested in everything you do and of course have an opinion on the subject. What you might not know is that British Shorthair is also a very caring cat, so although he likes to keep his distance, whenever you feel moody or coming down with the cold, he will stay next to your bed for the whole day and night, looking after you.
2.FURNITURE FRIENDLY.
👉British Shorthair cat is a smart cat and learns very quickly that scratching should be only practised with the scratching posts and mats. So if you can provide your cat with a quality scratching post, he will test his claws there instead of on your furniture.
