Vet Partners is excited to announce our collaboration with Majlis Perbandaran Pengerang (MPP) for the upcoming launch of the 'Jom Lesenkan Anjing Anda' program this October!

This initiative aims to educate the public about the importance of dog licensing and health, while actively working to prevent the spread of Rabies. Vet Partners will play a key role in administering core vaccinations and Rabies vaccinations, along with providing neutering services.

This marks the first preventive program in collaboration with city council to proactively administer Rabies vaccinations in Peninsular Malaysia.

As advocates for preventive medicine, we are proud to be part of this initiative and look forward to delivering this important message to the Pengerang community!

Dr. Joeanne Tan, who focuses in the diagnosis and treatment of animal internal medicine cardiology, has been working in veterinary medicine for 12 years. She has treated countless old dogs and has therefore compiled several common diseases in older dogs, teaching everyone how to observe older dogs at home to recognize signs of discomfort in their expressions and behavior. This helps caregivers better understand and observe the conditions of older dogs, thus seeking medical treatment earlier to alleviate their pain.

As dogs age, many factors can affect their health, such as body size and fat content, genetic inheritance and breed, living environment and diet, and gene expression. Therefore, daily care becomes even more important. She suggests observing their behavior and physical signs more often in order to detect problems early and seek early treatment. Just like humans, dogs can suffer from many of the same diseases as they age, such as . Dr. Joeanne states that arthritis is a common issue in many older dogs, especially in large breeds, while small breeds are more prone to and endocrine disorders like . Older dogs can also suffer from . Dogs with dementia will show changes in behavior, irregular sleeping patterns, urinate and defecate in inappropriate places, and have reduced interaction with their owners.

The likelihood of dogs developing is strongly influenced by genetics. Additionally, changes in diet, environment, and lifestyle can also lead to cancer.
