Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS) is a degenerative neurological disease that affects the nervous system of hedgehogs. It is similar to multiple sclerosis in humans, as it causes progressive weakness and loss of coordination in affected animals.
The exact cause of WHS is still not fully understood, but it is believed to be genetic in nature. It typically affects hedgehogs between the ages of 2 and 3 years, and there is currently no cure for the disease.
Symptoms of WHS include tremors, wobbliness or difficulty walking, loss of coordination, and eventual paralysis. As the disease progresses, hedgehogs may also experience urinary and fecal incontinence, difficulty eating and drinking, and respiratory problems.
While there is no cure for WHS, supportive care can help affected hedgehogs to maintain a good quality of life for as long as possible. This may include providing a comfortable and safe living environment, modifying the hedgehog's diet to accommodate their changing needs, and providing physical therapy and exercise to help maintain muscle tone and prevent muscle wasting. It is also important to monitor the hedgehog's condition closely and work with a veterinarian to manage any symptoms or complications as they arise.
For this hedgehog, his owner brought to us when he already have WHS for a month. Trying to give acupuncture therapy if it helps. Pray hard!

We thought she couldnโt make it as she looks pale and deadly to us during first visit. Our tiny little friend was having metabolic bone disease, scissor beak, runny nose syndrome and deficiencies in vitamin A.
After two sessions of aquapuncture and aggressive therapy, this tiny friend is back to life and finally gained her appetite.
Thanks to owner for not giving up on her. ๐น
Trying to add in mathematics and physics elements into our patientโs X-ray results.
Use of these anatomical reference lines greatly simplifies explanation of oral problems to the animalโs owners, as they can clearly see the extent of changes. This permits them to better understand the treatment recommendations and any associated complications.
