As the temperature climbs to 35ยฐC during this hot season, please provide ample water for your furry friends at home and for the stray animals you may feed. It is also important to protect our furry friends from heatstroke. Here's how you can help:
Ensure pets and stray animals have access to fresh, clean water at all times. Check water bowls frequently and refill them as needed.
Create shaded areas for outdoor animals to escape the sun's heat. Provide a shelter that allows for proper ventilation and cooling.
Encourage pet owners to exercise during cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening.
Even with windows cracked, cars can quickly become dangerously hot. Never leave pets unattended in vehicles, even for a short time.
Be vigilant for signs of heatstroke in animals, including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, and vomiting. If you suspect heatstroke, seek veterinary care immediately.
Offer pets frozen treats, provide damp towels to lie on, or use fans to help cool indoor spaces.
Educate others about preventing heatstroke in pets and stray animals.
Together, we can keep our furry companions safe and healthy during hot weather.
