Keeping your cat’s ears clean isn’t just about grooming—it’s about their overall well-being and comfort. While cats are often pros at keeping themselves clean, their ears can be a bit trickier for them to manage.

So next time you’re brushing your cat’s fur, take a peek at those ears. A little cleaning goes a long way in keeping your cat comfy and carefree! 🐱

PSA: Protect Your Pets from Heatstroke

Temperature has been crazy nowadays, it’s crucial to remember that our furry friends are also as vulnerable as we are to heatstroke. Heatstroke can be life-threatening for pets, but with proper care, it’s preventable.

Signs of Heatstroke in Pets:

• Excessive panting or drooling
• Lethargy and weakness
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Uncoordinated movements
• Collapse or unconsciousness

Tips to Prevent Heatstroke:

1. Provide Fresh Water: Ensure your pets have access to clean, cool water at all times.
2. Seek Shade: Keep your pets in shaded areas, especially during the hottest parts of the day.
3. Limit Exercise: Avoid strenuous activities during peak heat hours. Opt for early morning or late evening walks.
4. Never Leave Pets in Cars: Temperatures inside a parked car can soar to dangerous levels in minutes, even with windows cracked.

Watch for signs of heatstroke and take proactive steps to ensure their well-being.

Stay cool and keep your pets cool too!

Trivia Thursday: & it’s on rabbits!

A weird fact about rabbits is that their teeth never stop growing. To keep their teeth from becoming too long, rabbits constantly gnaw on various objects.

Their diet, which includes fibrous materials like hay, helps naturally wear down their teeth to a manageable length. If their teeth aren’t worn down properly, it can lead to serious dental problems.

It is Trivia Thursday! 💡

Today’s topic is: Cat’s Tongue 👅

A fascinating fact about a cat’s tongue is that it has an antiseptic quality. Cat saliva contains certain enzymes, such as lysozyme, which have antibacterial and antiviral properties.

When cats groom themselves by licking their fur, this saliva helps to clean and disinfect wounds or injuries on their skin.

The antiseptic nature of a cat’s tongue not only aids in wound healing but also serves to keep their fur clean and free from potential infections.

This natural self-cleaning mechanism is one of the reasons cats are often seen grooming themselves throughout the day, maintaining a level of hygiene and health.

On today’s episode of: Nearly Earless Kitty

Poor kitty was brought in with a torn ear after being bitten by a monitor lizard. Despite the injury, kitty remained surprisingly calm. The challenge was to clean and treat the wound while ensuring kitty felt comfortable during the healing process.

Hope kitty feels better soon!

Kudos to our vets who patched kitty up real good ♥️
