Remodeling a 6-foot fish tank
If your CO² bubbles go straight up to the surface, you're doing it wrong 🙅🏻♂️🙅🏻♂️
Why? 🤔
This indicates a few things:
1- The water doesn't flow throughout your whole tank.
A dead spot in your aquascape would be prone to algae attack. Plants won't get enough CO² to balance out with the fertilizer and lighting it receives.
Debris and other contaminants will start to pile up at the dead spot area. Which if left uncleaned can lead to algae problems.
2- Change the type / position of your filter outflow.
There are lilypipe, orchid, poppy, spinning, jet and rain bar type outflow. Choose one that suits your tank size & aquascape style. They each comes in handy for different situations.
Be mindful where you place the outflow. If you use the typical CO² diffuser, it is best to position it at the opposite direction of the outflow.
If you use inline diffuser or a reactor, this shouldn't bother you. 💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️
Even if your CO² goes brrrrrr, it is still useless if all the bubbles go straight up to the surface.

On a side note, be careful and stay safe as some areas are having flood. 🤗🤗🤗
Even a simple iwagumi style aquascape requires regular maintenance especially during the initial period.
That is the phase when the 'new tank syndromes' are waiting for chance to make a mess of your newly setup aquascape.

Something our customers rarely get to see. The automated sprinkling system only goes off twice daily. Early morning and late evening, when there are no customers in our shop.
Since it's an open paludarium, those standing in front of it when the sprinkler starts will also get sprinkled. To avoid that, we set it when nobody is around.
Seeing our 8 feet paludarium is even more mesmerising in real life compared to watching this video. 👁️👄👁️

Water change once in a few months. Yes, it's possible. 🤓🤓🤓
The bigger your tank, the more capacity it has to hold all the contaminants & decomposing organic materials.
Which makes your aquascape less likely to have drastic changes in water parameters compared to smaller size aquascapes.
When fully matured, a larger size aquascape only need to have its water changed once in every few months. Some even exceed to 6 months without doing water change, maybe even more! 👁️👄👁️ Simply top up the water when necessary.
Everything in your aquascapes should complement each other to establish a stable enclosed ecosystem. 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Either way, pick the size that suits your budget & space. There's no harm in learning from the mistakes in your smaller tank before upgrading to a larger one. Take a baby step. 👶🏻

Tidak seperti Oksigen, O², yang digunakan terutamanya oleh fauna. 🐟🐌🦐
Carbon Dioxide, CO², banyak digunakan oleh flora. 🌿🌱🍁
Dalam aquascape, tumbuhan tidak dapat bergerak sesuka hati sekiranya CO² tidak mencukupi, tetapi haiwan boleh bergerak ke kawasan yang cukup O² untuk bernafas.
Untuk pastikan semua tumbuhan dalam aquascape dapat CO² secukupnya, water flow tu sendiri yang perlu bawa CO² ke semua kawasan dalam tank. Sebab tu CO² tak boleh letak di kawasan yang kurang / tiada water flow yang kuat.
Macam mana nak tahu? 🤔🤔🤔
Kalau buih-buih CO² anda naik lurus terus ke permukaan, itu bermaksud position CO² diffuser anda salah.
Mudah ja nak settle 💁🏻♂️
⭕Kalau guna outflow lilypipe, letak CO² diffuser pada dinding tank yang bertentangan dengannya.

⭕Kalau guna outflow spin, boleh letak di bawah / tepi sebab water flow akan ke tepi bukan ke depan macam outflow lilypipe.
Dah nampak buih-buih CO² beterbangan macam dalam video ni, position CO² diffuser sudah betul. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nak penyebaran CO² yang lebih optimum? Boleh guna inline diffuser atau external reactor. Confirm pokok-pokok akan pearling.
Tapi ada yang suka tengok buih-buih keluar dari diffuser, terpulang pada cita rasa sendiri.
