Miki, was brought in to our clinic a few days after he was found, with bilateral ocular proptosis (protusion of both eyeballs from the orbit). Both eyeballs are beyond repair and eye enucleation surgery is the only treatment.

We are very glad Miki recovered well from his surgery and back to his old self again.

Brachycephalic breeds, like Pug, Shih Tzu, French Bulldog, Boxers and etc, are extremely prone to ocular proptosis. This can be caused by traumatic events like dog-on-dog fight. Please bring your dog to your nearest vet should there be any eye emergency, which could potentially save your dog’s vision.

This cat was presented to the clinic with complain of not eating and had difficulty in breathing after it went missing for 2 days.

She was then stabilised and X-ray was taken. Turns out she had 2 fish bone pieces stuck inside her throat. Her condition rapidly improved after the bones are removed.

This is one of the reasons why pet parents are constantly reminded to remove bones when feeding their pets or other stray animals.

Why is blood test important for your fur babies?

Blood test serves two main roles, one as a way to prevent illness and the other as diagnostic tool.

Animals have a natural instinct to try and hide any sign of illness which makes it challenging in pet care. Blood test can be a useful tool to get a full picture of your pet’s health. In older pets, more health problems tend to develop, so early detection is the KEY to early intervention, giving your vet time to treat or slow down illness progression.

This cat was rescued and presented to us with serious skin fungal infection. She was very timid and seem depressed most of the time. With routine treatment and lots of tender loving care, her condition improves. Now, she is rehomed to her fur-ever home. Not only she looks better, she is now more playful and happy. Our pets are the reflection of the love we give them.

Dirofilaria immitis, or commonly known as canine heartworm, are parasitic small thread-like worms, that are spread through mosquitoes bites. Common signs of affected dogs include coughing, laboured breathing, exercise intolerance, lethargy and etc. Canine heartworm disease is potentially fatal, but preventable. Treatment process take up to months and can be costly. Pet parents are strongly encouraged to provide heartworm prevention for their beloved pets.
