World Of Our Furry Friends (WOOFF) is a project created by Jeffery Tan and friends with the central purpose of providing care for stray and wild animals in Langkawi. Having graduated from the Animal Behaviour College, California, Jeffery’s knowledge and passion for animals is vast. Jeffery has been working on the island since 2008 and has helped many cats, dogs and other animals receive the care t
hat they need to date. With over 50,000 stray dogs alone in Langkawi, there is clearly a lot more work to be done and the problem is growing. WOOFF therefore needs your help. WOOFF’s work focuses on the following key areas:
1 Animal Rescue
Jeffery rescues animals that have been injured in the wild or mistreated by people. He provides medical assistance for these animals, either caring for them at home or referring them to a veterinary practitioner. Animal rescues can take hours to complete as Jeffery works tirelessly to gain the trust of the animals. This requires not only time, but an abundance of resources.
2 Animal Rehabilitation
Once rescued, Jeffery provides rehabilitation for the animals to help them to overcome their issues and often mistrust of people. This can take years, with some animals in Jeffery’s care having suffered extreme abuse or injuries. The costs associated with rehabilitation include medicine and food.
3 Animal Sterilisation
Jeffery catches animals in the wild and refers them for sterilisation to ensure that they will not reproduce. PETA Research has shown that just one female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in six years. In seven years one female cat and her offspring can give birth to 370,000 kittens. While many of these young animals die due to starvation, illness or predators, the population is still rising rapidly. It is therefore imperative that as many cats and dogs as possible are de-sexed to stop the problem from increasing.
4 Animal Care
Jeffery provides care for over 200 cats and dogs, amongst other animals, in Langkawi. This consists of providing food and medical assistance on an ongoing basis. The costs associated with this are high.
5 Education
Jeffery wants to educate the public on the issues surrounding stray and wild animals. If the community supports WOOFF’s cause, more animals can be sterilised and animal cruelty can be stopped. Every problem WOOFF faces is also a problem for the Langkawi community. With your assistance we can help to improve the lives of our furry friends.

Latest news on Extreme (22/11/2023)
Sad to say that he contracted parvovirus. He is still in the clinic & started his medication. 😔
Update of Extreme:
He was admitted to the vet yesterday as he hadn't eaten for 2.5 days. Before this, he was very playful & energetic. All of a sudden, he just stopped eating! 😔
All his blood tests came out beautiful & showed nothing. He is still with the vet for observation.
Please keep him in your prayers & thoughts 🙏
This pup estimated to be only 4 weeks old was rescued yesterday (Oct 3rd. 2023 @ 8.30 pm) night.
He was all alone without any mom or other siblings.
He is suffering from:
1. Maggots wounds.
2. Very bad skin problem.
3. Bad eye infection.
4. Seizure.
5. Very weak.
6. Shutting down.
He is in very good shape & has not passed the critical period just yet. We will observe him for the next 24-48 hours.
Decided to name him Extreme.
Let's hope & pray that he pulls through 🙏

Hi all.
Wish it's not too late to wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2023.
And since today is the first day of the Chinese New Year (the year of the rabbit), we here in WOOFF would like to wish everyone a prosperous, healthy, wealthy, loving & long life year ahead.
Stay tuned for recap of what have happened in the year 2022. There will be good & bad, happy & sad news.

Dog weighing, administering Ivermectin & showering the dogs on January 30th. 2022.
Wish to thank Lyn, Wakae, Hanni, Priscillia & Pang for coming & helping out with the dogs. Due to we having to do 3 tasks at one time, we managed to do 47 dogs. There are more dogs to get done. Hence, whoever is having some free time & would like to help out, you are most welcome.... 💖👍🏻

Calling all dog-loving volunteers!
An upcoming dog bathing day at World Of Our Furry Friends (WOOFF Langkawi)!!
Thanks to Covid and multiple MCOs, it has been a very long time since we gathered as a group for a dog bathing day. Jeffery Tan has been keeping the dogs clean and tick-free mostly on his own.
Now that the weather is dry and restrictions have eased, let's get together and help him with the following:
🐾 Bathing the dogs
🐾 Weighing the dogs
🐾 Administering ivermectin to prevent parasites
🐾 General maintenance and cleaning tasks that Jeff may need help with that day
Date: Sunday, 30 January 2022
Time: 12pm-4pm
Location: WOOFF Langkawi
Wear comfortable clothes and bring your own cold drinks.
Donated items are most welcome! If you can spare it, please bring kennel wash, pet shampoo, dog and cat food, rice, cat litter, and collars.
If you're coming, please let us know. SOPs will be followed and yes, we're vaccinated!
