Meet Dada...she's not only a cutie but she's real chatty too!
Collie :Part 2
Collie is a pretty humble dog but we managed to persuade him to end
the session with a mathematics show and tell!
Isn't he the smartest and cutest?!
Recently Collie's mum told us that he taught himself addition! Simple math... only single digit numbers... after some initial hiccups (he has mastered numbers which add up to a maximum of 9)...we proceeded to do test him... what can I say, now we can't bluff him the number of treats that is promised after each CMT session... and obviously dear Collie has been putting up with our sly trick of breaking the treat into half and telling him it's two treats...
On a more serious note, with this level of intelligence, Collie's ability to communicate with us has been an advantage to guiding his treatment plan (Collie has hip dsyplasia issues).. we have stretches of bad periods of pain so the vets, therapists and his family will tweak certain aspects to get it back to a manageable point with Collie giving feedback on his pain levels.
Recently I got an update from Yuumi's mum... it's too beautiful not to share... Yuumi never missed a CMT session in the many years she had it and now it's paying off dividends... even as a senior dog, she's thriving and walking so confidently in Seoul!
Part 1
Meet Mimi-San... a 13 year old sassy little poodle... only 3 teeth but was warned to watch your fingers! Luckily, she only becomes a croc when she has to brush her three teeth... otherwise, she growls thinking she's a 20 kg dog when she is touched at her arthritic spots.
Here she is coming back for her second CMT. Her vet recommended muscle health therapy as she has patella luxation with crepitus upon joint manipulation. She has been getting up a little slower and not so active.
CMT is a natural treatment and as we always explain... your pet may only show improvement after a few sessions.... if you are lucky, there may be noticeable changes for the better.
Her mum is absolutely delighted that her little girl started to ask for playtime again with her favourite Mickey Mouse toy and her gait has improved significantly to a more balanced gait as previously, it was tilted to one side...
Just love to see the little girl getting better!
Lola Part 3
Had some requests for more Lola updates... here you go! Her first encounter with a prickly hedgehog!
It was wonderful to see so many dog owners who were at Penang IAPWA'S annual fundraising event last Sunday.
Happy to see the many people and their doggos who were there to learn more about how to maintain their dog's muscles!
This made my week... after 5 weeks of immobility, Snowy beat the odds and started walking. As her nerves healed, it was a race against time to get her moving before her muscles atrophied. She's a real fighter and it would be safe to say she would have made it this far without the love and support of her family. They never hesitated to do all the home exercises and even increase the frequency...how they managed it with 3 kids, one being a 3 month old baby is a testament of love. The pet is not just a pet, it's part of the family.
On treatment day 1, Xiao Hei was carried in in a crate... unable to walk in.
Follow up! One week later...Xiao Hei... boy... we were so happy and pleasantly surprised , even for us! To see her sauntering in... still wobbly on the legs but nothing like a week ago... expectations were 500% surpassed... not every dog that comes gets such a good result so we were really thrilled to bits for this to happen, especially to such a sweet grand dame.
Mochi is all recovered! Mochi's started walking normally after a few sessions of CMT and acupuncture but we continued with a few more sessions just for good measure. When it looked like the recovery was good with no setbacks, there was no longer any need for Mochi to come unless it was an "enjoy session".
All the best to this cutie pie and her lovely family! #allbetter
Meet Jo Girl, 3 month old pup having her first CMT experience. CMT is not just for adult dogs, there are many benefits for active puppies too , one of which is to increase their nourishment intake to the whole body and increase their body awareness too.
Rebel comes for maintainance CMT but her mom does a lot of strength training with her too. The setup is made in such a way that it is incorporated into Rebel's daily life. What a lucky pup!
Wishing everyone and the furry love ones a wonderful year of the bunny!
May you and your family have good health, peace and joy!
Happy's mum managed to see his shark tank behaviour and it totally explained why he was walking with some discomfort. Mei mei was having her first heat and it was driving the poor boy bonkers. Happy got his CMT session brought forward and Mei Mei got a much needed staycation with Grandad!
Hear how Lucky's purr changes when it hits her arthritic joints.
Lucky is going to hit a quarter of a century soon and she is doing pretty good for her age.
Lucky comes for weekly maintenance CMT to give her arthritis a respite from the aches and pains. She's a vocal little lady and you definitely know when she feels good.
Here's an example of what i always advocate to my doggies and their hoomans... get them use to a mat, mattress from the beginning. Something that doesn't slide around when they are on it. Something that they will use, it doesn't need to be fancy.
This mat that Milo is on is an old baby soft mattress, folded into 2, covered with a soft vinyl covering, then a sheet and for some reason, they like the old retro style long mats ( i suspect it's because it's got a nice frictiony feel when you rub on it... even a cucumber doesn't roll around on it!)..
Public service announcement:
with the rainy weather, some ideas to keep the doggies entertained and enriched....
