Luna: Friendly Doggo Looking For Forever Home 🐕🏡
Owner POV: One day, during our regular walk with Cora, we stumbled upon a tiny, sickly puppy by the roadside. Despite having scabs, scars, and patches of missing fur on her ears and rear, she still possessed a cheerful spirit. She was playful, immediately capturing Cora's attention. They began to play together as if they were old friends.
In a moment of carefree play, the puppy darted across the road and was struck by a passing car that drove off. My heart sank, but there was no time to hesitate. I scooped her up and brought her to the vet, determined to give her a fighting chance. The vet treated her not only for the impact but also for her skin issues and overall health.
During the process, I discussed with my wife and our plan was straightforward: rescue her, nurse her back to health, and then put her up for adoption. But life had other plans. Over the next three months, we watched this fragile puppy transform into a healthy, energetic, and intelligent dog. Her skin healed completely, the fur on her ears and rear grew into a lush, thick coat, and she completely recovered from the leg injuries.
We named her Luna, and she quickly endeared herself to us with her quick learning and quirky personality. She loved sitting on our couch and often made us laugh with other funny behaviours. Luna and Cora got along wonderfully too, and we began to think she might become a member of our family.
However, as 3 more months passed and Luna grew, the harmony between her and Cora began to fray. One day, they got into a serious fight that left us deeply concerned. Our dog trainer advised us that keeping both dogs in our confined condo space wasn't ideal. The realization hit hard: we didn't have the space or resources to provide the environment both dogs needed.
(FYI: Cora is also a rescued dog with signs of previous abuse, which has left her with some behavioural issues. She is highly sensitive and can become easily agitated. This sensitivity was part of the cause of her fight with Luna. After this incident, they could not get along well together and would often fight.)
Faced with this heartbreaking decision, we returned to our initial plan of finding her a new home. She is now living at a pet boarding facility, waiting for her forever family. As every day passes, she waits dearly to be loved again. The financial strain of her care has also been heavy, and we urgently need a solution that ensures her happiness and well-being.
Luna deserves a home where she can be cherished and loved, where her playful and loving nature can shine. We are seeking a sincere, caring, and loving owner who has the heart and time to give Luna the life she deserves.
