This grumpy Persian exotic still trying to adjust itself to its current surroundings, it was just neutered/castrated a few days ago.
Any intact or altered adult cat will take some time to acclimatise and adjust itself to any new surrounding.

This is a DSH neuter under treatment for sporotrichosis, the open wounds have more or less subsided and closed, but notice the bulgy nose?
Sporotrichosis is a sporadic, chronic, granulomatous disease of humans and various domestic and laboratory animals due to Sporothrix species.
Infection usually results from direct inoculation of the organism into skin wounds via contact with plants, soil, or penetrating foreign bodies, and commonly amongst fighting outdoor Tom cats!
Non healing ulcerated wounds to nodular lumps are the typical lesions in cats and are usually mostly often found on the head, especially the bridge of the nose and the ear pinnae.

A hematoma is usually defined as a localized mass of blood that is confined within an organ or tissue. Thus, an aural hematoma is a collection of blood, either fresh or clotted, within the pinna (ear flap). When a hematoma is present, the pinna will appear very thick and spongy. The swelling may involve the entire pinna or it may involve only one area of the ear.
The external ear has a layer of skin on both sides and a layer of cartilage sandwiched between the two skin layers. Blood vessels run just beneath the skin. When something irritates the ear canal for example a ear infection, or even applying ear drops into the cat’s ear or even stung by an insect, the cat most likely will respond by scratching or shaking its head. Excessive or violent shaking causes one or more blood vessels to break, resulting in bleeding into the space between the ear cartilage and skin on the inner surface of the ear.

Today is Day 8: Alhamdulillah swelling has subsided and cat is now able to use its leg.
When it was first presented, according to its owner it had gone missing for 2 weeks, and had come home 🏡 limping and with no function of its hind left limb. Most likely a nasty bite wound on the left hind limb which was very swollen. There was also oblivious abscessation with a caseous discharge. There were also multiple minor bite wounds all over its body, however X-rays did not indicate any fracture.

Monorchidism is the retention of one of the testicles within the body, or a failure for a testicle to completely descend into its proper position into the scrotal sac. When both testicles are affected, the condition is referred to as 'cryptorchidism'.
The condition has varying degrees of severity, with some testes being extremely hard to locate within the abdomen. Although not regarded as a serious problem by itself, the condition can have some potentially dangerous side effects that can seriously impact on the health of the cat.
This was a 4 year old monorchid Persian that was castrated yesterday and had the undescended one removed as well, alhamdulilah 😻😻😻!

Just sharing this case from yesterday afternoon:
A 6.9kg sulcata tortoise was presented yesterday with the complaint of the surface of the upper carapace appeared rather off, and also, occasionally its urate (FYI: urate is the chalky white substance that is a part of a tortoise's urine and faeces) tend to be tainted with a little blood🩸on and off:
The flattened spots on the carapace shell could be attributed to the fact that during shower time it was being placed on its back by its owner.
With regards to the blood tainted urate, recall this tortoise about a year ago when it only weighed 0.7 kg, had been confirmed with the presence of uroliths. Eventhough it was almost 10 times heavier at the moment than what it was about a year ago, current X-rays have confirmed the presence of uroliths.
Uroliths, also known as bladder stones, are a condition that can affect the urinary tract of sulcata tortoises. They can cause blockages and damage to the urinary tract.
Causes
-Dehydration: Tortoises need access to fresh water all day.
-Environmental factors: Temperature and humidity can affect a tortoise's metabolism.
-Improper maintenance: If a tortoise's environment is not properly maintained, it can be more susceptible to bladder stones.

This post is just to illustrate the condition known as anisocoria in cats,
Anisocoria in cats means that their pupils are unequal in size. Normally, both pupils should respond to light by contracting and dilating equally. However, when one pupil remains dilated or constricted compared to the other, it indicates a potential underlying issue.
Causes of Anisocoria in Cats
Anisocoria itself isn’t a disease; rather, it’s a symptom of another health problem. There are several causes of anisocoria in cats, including:
-Corneal Injury: Damage to the cornea, such as from an ulcer, can cause one pupil to change size.
-Neurological Issues: Disorders involving the brain or the nerves that control the eyes, such as Horner’s syndrome, can lead to anisocoria.
-Glaucoma: Increased pressure within the eye can cause the affected pupil to stay dilated.
-Uveitis: Inflammation inside the eye can result in pupil constriction.
-Retinal Disease: Any issues with the retina may affect pupil size.
-Scar Tissue Formation: After inflammation, like with uveitis, scar tissue can form between the iris and lens, altering pupil size.
-Iris Atrophy: Older cats can experience iris degeneration, leading to anisocoria.
-Congenital Defect: Some kittens are born with an improperly developed iris.
-Cancer: Tumours in or around the eye can also impact pupil size.
-Spastic Pupil Syndrome: This rare condition may be related to the feline leukemia virus and causes intermittent pupil changes.
-Infectious Diseases: Conditions such as feline immunodeficiency virus or toxoplasmosis can also be responsible for anisocoria in cats.

Nebulising a DSH with mild bronchitis with ventolin. This is preferable as although cats do tolerate well with oral or injectable cortisones, they can have potential side effects in the long run. Ventolin is an over the counter inhaler that dilates the airways and can be used safely long term with extra doses for future flare ups. Particularly important for cats with chronic FURD with much nasal congestion that deemed to recur regularly throughout its lifetime.
