Heshmael's Clinic for Pets

Heshmael's Clinic for Pets A humble clinic located in Kota Damansara. We provide hospitalization & boarding services to all pets. We do see exotics, preferably via appointment basis.

A small animal practice that began in 2002, but at the current location from 2004. Alhamdulillah it was a dream come true, to have established my childhood dream, jazakAllah khayran to both my beloved parents for being supportive. Heshmael, as many may ponder and wonder how did it come about, during my penpal days I liked to sign off as Has. Ismail, which later friends spelt as H. Ishmael, probabl

y because of my hand-writing. so it then occurred to me, why not: HESHMAEL. Yes we do see canines, as I myself am blessed with a tribal pack of salukis and one rescued Afghan hound, apart from the 8 geriatric pedigreed cats at home. We do treat other pets like rabbits, cavies, hamsters, and other rodents; also birds and reptiles in a restricted sense. We have an X-ray machine, and in-sha Allah an ultrasound by end of 2015. We also provide grooming services to pet cats, dogs and rabbits; housecalls and home-visits (via appoinments only). Boarding facilities are also provided, and we separate felines from the canines *GRIN*.

This was a case of a rescue cat that had successfully delivered one live kitten whilst the rest were stillborn (a total of 3).

Sadly milk production was very minimal thus the very need to intervene and hand-raise this kitten. This also involves providing the kitten with the care it would normally receive from its mother, including feeding, toileting, cleaning, and keeping it warm.

Indeed a demanding but yet, rewarding process, especially if involving very young kittens.

Alhamdulillah this was a beautiful young monorchid Persian that was castrated earlier, removing the retained te**is as well! Notice the β€œretained” or undescended te**is is smaller than the descended one.

Monorchidism is the retention of one of the testicles within the body, or a failure for a testicle to completely descend into its proper position. When both testicles are affected, the condition is referred to as 'cryptorchidism'. The condition has varying degrees of severity, with some te**es being extremely hard to locate within the abdomen. Although not regarded as a serious problem by itself, the condition can have some potentially dangerous side effects that can seriously impact on the health of the cat.

These 2 young cats were castrated earlier and are coming out of GA.

After anaesthesia, cats often exhibit temporary grogginess, lethargy, and potential disorientation for 12-24 hours. They may also be more sensitive and experience increased stress or anxiety, leading to behaviours like hissing, growling, or swatting.

The "maniacal" or excessively active stage after GA in cats is not a formal medical term, but it can be a common observation.

This was a case of a Persian cross that was presented with abdominal breathing, sadly from X-rays 🩻 it seemed to point to diaphragmatic hernia.

Diaphragmatic hernia in cats occurs when abdominal organs push through a tear or opening in the diaphragm, the muscle separating the chest and abdomen. This can happen due to trauma (like car accidents) or be present from birth (congenital). If the hernia is severe or not addressed, it can be life-threatening.

After the morning rains β˜”οΈ, it was time to jogarun the Salukis including the one that was brought by its owner with all those nasty scabs a few days ago.

So far so good, no sign of scratching and biting and we are slowly removing the scabs daily and cleaning the wounds too, doubt the owner would be able to do a thorough job, going home this Friday evening in sha Allah 🀲🏽😻🀲🏽!
