Here’s an update on our shelter’s donations and expenses. These are receipts we haven’t shared before, covering medical bills and some shelter costs. They don’t include the treatment fees for the 5 furries currently hospitalized.

Over the past 9 months, SAW has spent RM197,312.10—that’s about RM21,923.56 per month. We’ve tried to cut costs wherever possible, but when we see a suffering animal barely clinging to life, we just can’t ignore them.
Breakdown of Expenses (for 9 months):
-Medical bills: RM59,097.80 (treatments, neutering, vaccinations, monthly deworming & heartworm prevention)
-Rent: RM1,400 x 9 months = RM12,600
-Food: RM36,790(9 months total)
-Staff salaries: RM1,800 x 4 staff x 9 months = RM64,800
-Electricity: RM1,502.10(9 months total)
-Plumbing repairs: RM502.80(9 months total)
-Miscellaneous (grass-cutting fuel, cleaning supplies, fencing, etc.): RM819.30(9 months total)
-Large pet fencing (including shipping): RM1,803.90
-7 large stainless steel cages (including shipping): RM4,505.30
-4 large pet carriers (including shipping): RM2,380.10
-Pet supplies: RM5,190.20(9 months total)
-Septic tank cleaning: RM1,300
-Dog kennel welding repairs: RM1,000
-Hardware materials (bricks, sand, cement, roofing, etc.): RM5,020.60(9 months total)
In these 9 months, we’ve managed to pay RM60,000 towards medical bills. But after clearing old debts, we still owe RM17,550.80. On top of that, the new medical bills total RM59,097.80.
Adding up everything (medical + other expenses), our total for the 9 months is RM197,312.10, and right now, we’re short by RM227,385.20.
We last held a fundraiser 9 months ago, but for the past 8 months, we didn’t run fundraiser. Instead, we relied on charity sales and kind donations, which brought in RM37,820.30. Every cent of it went towards medical bills and clearing past debts for food and rent.
As for the outstanding, are paid out of our own pockets and borrowed from friends & family, but we’re reaching our limit.
💔 Right now, we’re stuck. The animals need help, but we just don’t have the funds.
