This brave kitty came in with a severely damaged and infected eye. Unfortunately, the best option for her comfort and long-term health was eye enucleation — the surgical removal of the eye.
This procedure may sound extreme, but when an eye is causing constant pain or cannot be saved, removing it can be the kindest choice. After surgery, cats usually recover well and adapt quickly to life with one eye. What matters most is that they’re no longer in pain and can continue living a happy, healthy life.
