The name Le Roux van Wyk Dorper Stud was branded in 2008 although the original stud dates back to 1990, formerly owned by Le Roux's father PJ van Wyk. Le Roux obtained his B.Agric Degree from the University of the Free State in South Africa in 2005. He also successfully completed his Honours Degree in Agricultural Finance. Having achieved all this, Le Roux decided to stay on for a further 2 years
continuing his studies whilst also teaching. In 2008 he returned to his roots to assist his father on the farm. It was then decided that he should take over the Dorper Stud as his own. 2011, Le Roux van Wyk Dorper Stud participated in the Namibian National Championships for the first time. With only a few Dorpers, he quickly established himself as a worthy contender. He became the first Namibian ever to come in third overall and with the second most champion Dorpers and most points per entry. His stud was awarded the Best New Comer and received the trophy for the Namibian Large Champion Dorper Ewe. It is well perceived that Le Roux has the ability to recognize the potential and quality of any given animal that will be beneficial to his stud.
