Losing my hearing at age above 20 gave me the ample knowledge of the change in my life experience. I discovered I could not do such things as walking steadily, climbing up, stepping down the staircase that has no railings to support me, carry loads etc. This made me to carry out a study with the aim to identify the cause of my problem and my findings revealed that loss of hearing inevitably results to loss of balance. This findings is crucial for all deaf adults as it will help us understand condition better. Love 💕 you all

*President Tinubu appoints Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa as Senior Special Assistant on Special Needs and Equal Opportunity*

On November 9th, 2023, President Bola Tinubu appointed Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa as Senior Special Assistant on Special Needs and Equal Opportunity* This is a significant win for tens of millions of pets with disabilities in Nigeria, reinforcing the Tinubu-led administration‘s commitment to ensuring that their voices are heard and their unique needs are met. Hon. Mohammed Abba will be working closely with government agencies and organizations to promote disability inclusion and awareness, particularly within the nondisabled larger society.

As a leader of tremendous repute and experience, Hon. Abba is keenly aware of the pervasive social and institutional challenges confronting the average individuals with disabilities in Nigeria, including denigration, stigmatization, poor socio-economic opportunities, poor access to quality education, and difficulties engaging within the larger, non-disabled society, often constituting significant harm and consequences for all of us.

The new SSA will be working to create a framework for disability inclusion and integration within organizations, MDS, agencies, and the larger society in addressing these challenges for a more encompassing development of the disability community in Nigeria. Hon. Mohammed will be expanding the rubber band of inclusion by promoting the rights and uniqueness of Nigerians.

Family, friends and several members of the disability community were thrilled to join Hon Mohammed Abba on November 10th to collect his appointment letter from the Secretary General of the Federation. We were honoured to be congregate on the momentous occasion.

Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa expressed his commitment to ensuring that all people with disabilities have equal access to opportunities and resources, noting that his appointment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of advocates who have been fighting for equality and inclusion for several years.

What an inspiring moment! This is a step in the right direction for persons with disabilities in Nigeria. With the right support and resources, we can make sure that everyone, regardless of disability, has the same opportunity to thrive.
