Yay! It is International Dog Day today, August 26, 2021.

The day was established by Collen Paige, an animal welfare advocate. It is a day dedicated to encourage all to celebrate all dogs, encourage people to take proper care of them as well as adopt dogs not owned by anyone and so not taken proper care of.

Today in particular, we choose to celebrate all dog lovers and everyone who own a dog pet.

Let's make our best friends feel a deeper love from now on.

They are guide dogs with life span of 11-12 years. They are very reliable, trustworthy, kind, and intelligent.

GERMANY SHEPHERD

This dog breed is called German Shepherd or Alsatian. It originated from Germany.

It is quite an aloof dog, and it doesn't make friends easily. But when it finally bonds with anyone or household, he's fiercely loyal and protective.

It takes its time to trust people, so even though it is loyal, energetic, confident and good all round, we thought to point out that nature it has.

You want to travel into Nigeria or elsewhere with your pet? Is it your first time? Here is a very important information.

Your pet must be vaccinated for rabies between 30 days and 12 months prior to entering the country.

For dogs, other vaccinations to include are Canine Distemper, Canine Hepatitis, Canine adenovirus, Canine parainfluenza and Canine parovirus.

For Cats, the other vaccinations for them include Feline Distemper, Felline Herpes and Calicvirus.

Let's tell you a hunger story many children from low-income families face.

Little Ms. Nneda (not her real name),who started attending The KNOSK N100-a-day School last October 2020 is quiet and unassuming, diligent and well behaved, but it did not take long for us to notice that she came with no lunch bags.

When asked, she said she leaves home before food is ready and so she would eat after she got home from school.

Great kid, if you ask me.

But actually there is usually no breakfast at home so Ms. Nneda comes to school hungry most of the time! Most adults would be unable to concentrate at work when they are hungry but children do not have much of a choice. They feel grateful that they can even access education first off.

They are forced to come to school hungry and go through school on an empty stomach.

We don't think that's the way it should be. This is why providing lunch is a core part of our mandate. Even though the families pay only N100-a-day as school fees.

Providing lunches for all our students, and breakfast for students like Nneda is super important to us. This is where we can get to with your support.

See our happy faces after lunch.

Today's lunch is made possible by our friends at The Blueblood Veterinary Ltd, Abuja. Through their gracious donation, our students have two lunches secured per week for the entire term.

Thank you Dr. Bala Mohammed! Thank you Blue Blood Vet!!

One day's lunch cost N22,500 and caters for 75 persons.
