Biocamp Vet is 2 years old today

Cheers to over1500 registered pets and over 50 livestock farms under our consultancy services

In sober reflection of our Veterinary oath, we affirm that we will continue to use our scientific knowledge for the benefit of society, strive to promote animal health and welfare, relieve animal sufferings, protect the health of the public and environment and advance comparative medical knowledge.

Seasons greetings dog owners,

It is that time of the year when we admit more patients down with food poisoning. Poison most times not from your neighbor that doesn't like your dog but from you.

Don't throw caution to the wind and give your dogs everything we advised you not to give them including raw onions, chocolate, chicken bones, etc.

One good way to "do Christmas" for your dog this season is the stick to your normal meal plan for them and they will be alive to celebrate with you again next year.

We hope that you and yours would have a blissful holiday even as we at Biocamp Vet are available to receive your calls for any emergency.

The incidence of canine distemper is currently high around Awka
We admitted quite a number dogs diagnosed of distemper this week.

Reminding dog owners that DHLPP (tripple) vaccine is not just against "Parvo"

Maybe using that abbreviation often obscures its meaning and importance

Maybe dog owners will take the vaccination serious if we are taking the stress to call it
Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and Parvovirus Vaccine

Hearing about the dog walk last Saturday at Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria, these ones summoned me for an emergency meeting today

Goats: Have you humans ever organized a goat walk for us?
Are they more animals than us?
Me: tides are changing in their favour. Great men are struggling for the title of a goat, not a dog.
BTW, even if I live in Lagos (but God forbid), I must keep goats at the back of my compound just like our ancestors.

Goats: Is it true that you sell canned goat meat as dog food at Biocamp Pet shop?
Me: It's not true. Though your meat is sweet, we only sell canned chicken, beef, and turkey which are very good for dogs.

Goats: Is it true that a dog had an umbilical hernia and he was sent to a Vet surgeon but a goat in the same condition was sent to a butcher? Are we not part of the animals you Vets swore before the Veterinary council of Nigeria to alleviate their sufferings?
Me: I have been saying it since. You people need to be treated equally. We need to be charging the same for treating all of your animals in the spirit of equality.

Goats: With all due respect sir, shut up sir. Your type of equality will make our owners not bring us to you for treatment
Me: Sorry sirs, I just wanted to increase your value. I meant well for you

Goats: Why are you guys just focused on selling dog food and accessories at Biocamp Pet shop? You people even sell dog perfumes, shampoo, tick powder, multivitamins, tick spray, plate, brush, soaps, and lots more. The one that pains us more is that you people sell beautiful dog leash and chains that are worth 3k, 4k, 5k, 6k, and even 10k but our owners buy su***de ropes at Eke Awka and use them to tether us
Me: We are looking into this matter next year. We are in touch with a company in Anambra that wants to formulate food specially for you.

Goats: Why are you always snapping pictures of dogs but not goats?
Me: Sorry, pose let me snap and post on my social media handles

About the free anti rabies vaccination at Biocamp Veterinary Clinic today...

It was not necessarily done to reduce the of cost of keeping pets for our clients, neither was it a way of saying "thank you" though we deeply appreciate them.

It is a way of using the catchy power of the word "FREE" to again conscientise pet owners, breeders and animal caretakers again of the deadly rabies disease and it's causative agent that can turn a lovely pet into a monster, kills the pet after possible transmission to humans which kills the victim upon the onset of clinical signs.
We hence draw attention to the vaccine that 100% prevents this disease.

I believe the cost of anti rabies vaccination is nothing compared to it's prophylactic significance.
I believe a pet owner should take his/her pet to a registered Veterinary Clinic for vaccination even when it is not FREE.
