In our previous posts, we dived into the world of Reef Care minerals: Base minerals, Macro minerals, and Trace minerals. Today, let's chat about the last group – the Nutrients.
The recommended parameter ranges for maintaining a healthy marine aquarium depend on various factors, including the type of aquarium and our coral-related goals.
Looking universally, the most common ranges for basic biological parameters are: PO4 - 0.06-0.15 ppm, for NO3 from 0.2-15 ppm.
In the world of reefers, keeping an eye on phosphate and nitrate levels is crucial for maintaining a happy and balanced aquatic setup. But what exactly do these nutrients bring to the table?

🧪 PO4 Up from Reef Factory, is used to increase the PO4 parameter in the tank.
Product parameters
Net volume: 1 L / 33.8 fl. oz.
Dosage: Adding 10 ml of PO4 Up Reef Minerals increases the phosphate (PO4) level by 1 mg/L (ppm) in a 100 L marine aquarium.

PO4 Up is safe and does the job efficiently, bringing those phosphate levels to their sweet spot. PO4 Up, our product, not only helps our aquatic buddies with their metabolic processes, but it also plays a vital role in the phosphate cycle of your aquarium and helps prevent the unwanted algae blooms.

Stable phosphate levels are vital for corals as they support skeletal growth and overall health. Fluctuations can harm corals and promote algae growth, endangering coral reefs.

Too low phosphate levels can be harmful to corals because they need phosphates for their growth, reproduction, and overall health. A shortage of phosphates can weaken corals, make it harder for them to recover from damage, and limit their ability to compete with other marine organisms.

🧪 Now, let's talk about NO3 Up, which raises the NO3 level in the aquarium.
Product parameters

Dosage: Adding 10 ml of NO3 Up Reef Minerals increases the nitrate (NO3) level by 5 mg/L (ppm) in a 100 L marine aquarium.

NO3 Up is safe and allows for a quick and effective increase in nitrate levels in your marine aquarium.Nitrate is a player in the metabolic processes of marine buddies.
Maintaining stable nutrient levels is important for coral reefs because sudden changes can harm the corals. Corals need specific nutrients to grow and stay healthy, and excessive nutrients can lead to algae overgrowth, which can compete with corals for space and resources.
Too low nutrient levels can be dangerous for corals because they need these nutrients to grow and stay healthy. Corals use nutrients to build their hard skeletons, and a lack of them can weaken the corals and make them more vulnerable to diseases.

When it comes to dosing minerals, you can dose the minerals from Reef Factory in two ways.

On the basis of your own knowledge. Each bottle is labelled with information on how much 10 ml of the solution should be dosed in 100 litres of aquarium or, if you send the water for an ICP test, you will receive a recommendation as to how much should be dosed in order to correct any parameter to the correct level.

Thanks to the Smart Reef 360 method in the ICP panel, we can link a particular element to a selected dosing pump. This causes the dosing of the selected element to be carried out automatically.

💡 Here's a pro tip for Nutrients: always adjust the levels based on your tank's population.

Uit Vietnam, cerianthus, recordea yuma, rock flowers, mini anemonen en grote stenen Zoanthus (€60,- per stuk, helaas stonden ze nog niet open maar u heeft een goede indruk hoe groot de stenen zijn op de foto).
