Rescue Dogs and Cats The Netherlands is run entirely through volunteer work. Based in the Netherlands, we work in collaboration with several animal shelters in Lithuania, helping to adopt and rehome rescue dogs and cats to the Netherlands and allowing them to experience the love, kindness and safety that they deserve.

Rescue Dogs and Cats The Netherlands was founded in 2020 by Julija and Ramun

e, two animal lovers who always had a desire to help homeless animals. The initiative quickly grew to a group of more than 20 people working voluntarily in re-homing rescues from Lithuania to The Netherlands, Belgium and some other countries. In Lithuania the number of abandoned dogs and cats is very large. There are plenty of shelters that are doing a great job to help them to survive and doing their best to find them home. We truly feel heartbroken knowing that there are so many animals suffering from different sorts of abuse and neglect. Therefore, this project is our way to contribute to the wellbeing of rescue dogs and cats. The goal of this website is to tell you more about dogs and cats in need and to facilitate their adoption and rehoming to The Netherlands. If you are looking to adopt, you will have to fill out the application form, your answers are an important part of helping us to be sure that the pet is a good match for you, your family and your lifestyle. We will provide you with all the information about the pet, his or her life story, character, behavior and other things you need to know. Born in difficult conditions among 30 other dogs in a small Lithuanian town, he has already overcome a tough start. Despite being born amidst debris, Koris has shown incredible resilience and a gentle heart. ❤️

Koris currently weighs around 10 kg (and still growing!). He is good with both adults and children, and with proper introductions, he could adjust well with other animals. 👫🐕🐱

Missus cuteness Bean is about 7-8 months young, playful and sweet, curious to discover the world around her. This little girl is the owner of most beautiful cute pink nose with black line around it, the stylish white pows and long elegant tail. In her mesmerising way she is the one to rush to greet everyone in her foster household from humans to dogs, just guests are not her thing.

Bean came into the foster care last spring after her mum and siblings were trapped. It took a while for bean to open up. But once it happend it seems like Beans love and joy to be a part of a family is unstoppable. Thus she is happy to cuddle, lounge together on a couch or just enjoy playing with everything what reminds her of toys.

Despite her initial shyness bean would fit in any househol and can make a great friend with dogs. She is ready to travel and be part of your family are you ready for her?!

Beautiful boy Jazmin is about 7-8 months young, full of sweetness and love for the one who will cherish him like he cherishes you. It took Jazmin a while to fight his fears and discover the connection he has with humans. But now he will spend hours purring and cuddling with his beloved human-friend.

His mum and his siblings were living on the streets till last spring they were trapped. His mum is a young beautiful and sweet cat, but due to the shortage of space in the shelter after being spayed she was released back to the streets. For Jazmin and his siblings began an adaptation period of living with humans. It took several months till Jazmin came out and become the loving and cuddly boy as he is now.

Jazmin is enthousiastic greeter, he eagerly rubs his head agains humans to receive some pets. When there is a chance he gladly comes lies on your lap or somewhere nearby. He loves food and definitely will let you know when he is hungry. However he still can be scared of quick movements and loud noises thus could not live in a loud and busy home.

Please consider adopting this lovely cuddle bug as at the moment he and his sister are staying alone in a home where the foster just comes visit and feed them.

Meet Whiskers (Ūsas in Lithuanian) who’s a charming male cat almost 2.5 years old 🐈 Whiskers is an adorable and exceptionally brave cat who’s your true friend from the very first interaction 🤗 He loves being held and will literally jump into your lap (or on your neck 😄) if you don’t intend to hold him 😁

Besides being a lap cat, Whiskers is also a real purrer and friendly with dogs, but not so much with other cats (at least at the present moment). Therefore, he’d appreciate being the only cat in the house ☺️ Oh, and did we mention that he can turn the doorknob by himself to open doors? 🤭 He can’t lock and unlock them yet, but we’re sure he’ll learn this soon too! 😃
