🎄The holidays are almost here! 🌈

Christmas Eve on December 24th marks the start of the holiday season. Perhaps your days are filled with family hustle and bustle and lots of food, or you may have decided to take it easy.�-�From December 23 until January 3 I'm going to take some time off to enjoy some well earned rest. The webshop remains open and orders in by 10Am Thursday December 30th will be shipped that day. All other orders will be processed on m Monday January 6th.

Een maand geleden stond ik op de Breidagen in Nijkerk en kon je een aantal nieuwe test garens bekijken en voelen voor ‘The Coloured Cat’. Voor degene die dat nog niet weten, onder de naam ‘The Coloured Cat’ voer ik het garen dat ik zelf verf. Onder de noemer TCC Test Chunky kon je onderstaan...

The weather forecasts are excellent, not too hot and not too cold and for the time being it seems to remain dry.🤞
It won't be known until tomorrow morning where I am, probably somewhere in the first part from the station.

Today I visited the Textile museum in Tilburg.

You studied industrial design, which brought you to Denmark, where I was born. Then you went back to the Netherlands where you worked for your father in his school furniture factory, you had a preference for working with wood. After some wandering you ended up in Winterwijk at Oortgiese Interiors where you felt like a fish in water. You were the link between the architect and the technical craftsman, you ensured that the architect’s idea was developed with precision. After your retirement, you traveled all over the world for the ‘Pum’ and helped companies to improve their products and production. Unfortunately, you were diagnosed with dementia and spent the last few years in a nursing home where you had 3 friends who you liked to tell about your work and your travels. You have been ailing for the past few months, last week you became ill and the medications no longer worked. June 27th your body gave up.

Yesterday we waved you goodbye on your final journey.
Goodbye Dad, have a nice trip!

Due to the iminent passing away of my father, The Coloured Cat is currently unavailable by telephone and orders will not be sent immediately. I cannot yet oversee the progress, so I do not dare to make predictions when I will be able to process orders again. Marijke

100% brushed Alpaca gives this colour exactly the nuance it needs.
Skeins are in 50 grams and have 200 meters length, suitable for needles 3.25 - 4.5 mm.

De ‘Sophie Shawl’ van is inmiddels af, met 2 strengen The Coloured Cat Colocola kom ik zonder op te spannen op 178 x 28 cm. Nu nog wat extra kleur (Magenta Overdrive en Tangelo) toevoegen en een lekkere muts erbij maken.

The ‘Sophie Shawl’ from is now finished, with 2 skeins of Colocola I reach 178 x 28 cm before blocking. Now I’m going to add some extra colour (Magenta Overdrive and Tangelo) and make a nice hat.
