This chicken, we call her Greetje, has had issues since last fall. A worm infection and broodyness got herself almost killed in the group so we put her apart and because it took more time we gave her some friends of her own. Went well but she was not right so the other two got off on their own and Greetje was getting weaker even more. Another infection but she reacted well to her medication. Last weekend she kind of collapsed, hardly any meat or muscle left. The thing is, we got ourselves attached to her and vice versa and now we try to keep her alive. The vet gave us some to help her, by Friday we’ll decide

This video was shot last Thursday. Friday morning Kip, the ginger one, didn't return from his nightly adventures. We're Saturday night now and unless miracles happen we have to conclude that he got lost somewhere.
Third time in three years. Brommer died because of a car accident. Tosti, only a few weeks ago, came back after 26 hours from an experience that cost him at least 2 kg of weight. Now Kip is gone.
Kip is heading this page and the pinned post you always have to skip to get to the real news. Our friendly lovely hairy old ginger friend seems to be gone. He was keeping a distance while on four feet but was always in for a belly rub and begging for more - with a very distinctive mroaaawh - when he was half asleep or lying down. He loved us running around the garden with a stick which he occasionally hunted. He was Brommer's brother and grew up in company of other cats. When Brommer died he was so sad we had to introduce Tosti, which worked out quite well.
Cats disappear. We'll never get used to that but it seems to be a fact of life. The two ginger brothers didn't make it together and now the last one is gone too. We're sad. No more "Did you see Kip?" "Might as well sleep in the hay stack". No more please give me a rub while staying just out of reach. No more the regularity of his life, he was always around, never really far away. He was quiet and his own cat. It's dead silent now. Bye Kip, our ginger friend. Love you. Miss you.
Happy World Bee Day! 💛🐝
Random bee fact: One bee has to fly about 90,000 miles – three times around the globe – to make one pound of honey. That’s amazing, right?? Makes you appreciate the honey even more 🍯
