This is a early prototype of the classic Ucci oak nesting box.
You can see that oak is slowly turning gray nicely.

On all our production models, we now use a UV protection oil. This way the color change process will take much longer.

If you believe trees feel pain as well, you will understand why we mount our nesting boxes storm proof on trees using a tension strap instead of protruding into the tree with a screw. Good for the trees, good for the birds, good for the planet...

Home Tweet Home...for the birds!

Sometimes people are confused about the size of our nesting boxes. The standard box as depicted here is 185 x 185 x 210mm big, which allows the birds to create a nest of 120 x 120mm, that is equal to a double king size bed for humans folks 😊

A bird feeder gives you a great view of the birds! Bird feeders have options for different types of garden bird food. You can place scattered food on the tray or hang fat balls or peanut garlands from the feeder. Different types of food will attract different birds. 🕊

So if you want lots of birds in your garden, give them several feeders with different types of food!

Tips for hanging your bird house.

DO'S
✅ Hang the bird house at a slight angle to prevent rainwater from running in through the lid hinge.
✅ Make sure the bird house hangs securely so that it cannot fall or swing.
✅ Birds have a territory. Keep at least 15 meter between nest boxes for the same species.
✅ Most nest boxes can be hung at a height of about 2 meter. Boxes for swallows or owls are much higher.

DONT'S
❌ A place that is fully exposed to the sun in the afternoon is not a good idea. It can get so hot in the bird house that the young will not survive.
❌ Birds don't like wind. So never hang your bird house with the entrance facing the wind. Preferably with the entrance facing north-east.
