Oh, that sweet Soof. 2 weeks ago, she was brought to us by the staff of the animal shelter in Breda with the animal ambulance. She was found and not picked up.
What a beautiful sweetheart! So pretty and so sweet. Last Saturday, a handsome fluffy castrated male came to us with his human owners, looking for a new friend. That became Soof.
And look how wonderful the two of them are together

Are beetroot healthy for my guinea pigs and rabbits?
Yes, they are!
It may be a bit of a forgotten vegetable, which is a shame if you know what it contains! Beetroot contains many nutrients, including vitamin C, beta-carotene, B vitamins, fiber, iron, calcium and phosphorus. In addition, it contains a lot of betacyanin, which has a positive effect on the immune system. It is also said to improve liver function and there are also indications that it counteracts inflammation and the formation of cancer cells. This makes beetroot a very valuable supplement for older and weaker animals, but of course also for normal healthy animals. Is this your first time feeding it? Then don't feed too much at once to let the digestive system get used to it. For all vegetables that you feed, it applies that they should be given in a varied way and alternated with other vegetables. Always feed them raw to rodents and rabbits. For dogs, they can be cooked or processed raw in the blender with other vegetables or fruit into a mixture. Oh yeah, eating beets can also discolor the urine of animals, so don't be alarmed if you notice a strange color ;)

This lady has a special story! During an arrest by the police, Copper was found in a shopping bag. Of course, that was not how it’s supposed to be. Copper was handed over to the animal ambulance by the police and that is how she ended up at the animal shelter in Breda. Since her former owner did not come to pick her up, this sweet girl was eventually picked up by us. We estimate Copper to be about four months old and fortunately she is in good condition, although she could still gain some weight. She will stay with us for the time being and will therefore not be available for adoption yet.

We are very happy with all the help from our fantastic volunteers, employees and everyone who helps in any way. During the summer holidays, the volunteers also need a holiday, so we as a family help as well. The cutting and providing of the vegetables is therefore currently literally in Australian hands :)
