This is also part of the hobby. A few weeks ago I discovered a scab near Zuko’s ‘nose’. The vet thought it was a wound and I treated it with an ointment for a while. Today, after shedding it looks much better, fortunately! I hope it heals completely, because he is such a sweet boy 🥹

I’m very satisfied with the upgrade for Piñata! (I just have to put it on a shelf, but I can’t do that alone 😜) Piñata is a rhacodactylus leachianus, a giant gecko. I already have him for more than 3 years now and he is certainly one of my favorite geckos from New Caledonia! What is your favorite gecko species? 🦎

Azula her enclosure! She is a trimeresurus insularis or Komodo Island pit viper. They are arboreal and spend all their lives in trees. They hunt by night waiting patiently on a branch usually several meters above the ground. They like to hide between the foliage, relying on their great camouflage. Their color patterns are often found to be green or a blue-green color with specific populations even containing yellow variants as well. She is definitely one of my favorites! 💙

My new addition has arrived! His name is Brock and he is a sidewinder. These pit vipers live in desert habitats and are named for their unique sidewinding movement. The scientific name of the sidewinder rattlesnake is Crotalus cerastes, with its Latin name cerastes translating to the word “horn.” Isn’t he beautiful? 🥰
