Leopold van Asten made a good start of the Indoor season at CSI Riesenbeck International. He won several prizes on Saturday.
With VDL Groep Mistral (s. Diamant de Semilly) he reached a 3rd place in the Final of the Youngster Tour. Riding VDL Groep Urane de Talma in the Final of the Medium Tour, finishing clear in 23,54 sec, he won this class. And Leopold managed to repeat this result finishing the jump-off of the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck clear in 34,36 sec. with VDL Groep Kiara (s. Clearway). Another win!

After 2 Qualifiers the horse Mistique (Aganix du Seigneur x Cardento) bred by Stoeterij Duyselshof and ridden by Guido Franchi, is in the lead for the Final of the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for horses of 7-years of age taking place at Stoeterij Zangersheide in Lanaken.
On Thursday Guido and Mistique won the first Qualifier in this Championship! Yesterday they were placed 9th.
We are looking forward to an exciting Final on Sunday and wish them a lot of success!

The first week of the September Tour at Peelbergen Equestrian Centre was a good show for VDL Groep Mistral (Diamant de Semilly x Numero Uno). Ridden in the Youngster Tour by Leopold van Asten they finished 4th and 5th on Thursday and Friday. A good round on Saturday in the Zangersheide Prix qualified for a 2nd place. Well done!

Yes, she did it!
VDL Groep Prima Donna (F-One USA x VDL Groep Alexia Z) ridden by Natalia Majchrowicz reached the 3rd place in the Final of the KWPN van Santvoort makelaars Cup for 4-year old show jumpers, that's taking place at the Nationaal Hippisch Centrum in Ermelo. With this result she was the best mare in this class. Proud breeder!

You don't need to go far from home to have a great show! Leopold van Asten participated in The Summer Showcase at Longines Tops International Arena and had a great show. Horses were jumping well and especially VDL Groep Kiara made him very happy. Not having a lot of experience on 1m50 level yet, this daughter of Clearway x VDL Groep Issis du Marais won the 1m50 class against the clock on Saturday.

New owner for top show jumping horse VDL Groep Iron Z.
Stoeterij Duyselhof in Hoogeloon has sold one of its top-ranked horses. 11-year-old grey gelding VDL Groep Iron Z, bred and trained by Stoeterij Duyselshof, has been purchased by Irish equestrian Cian O'Connor.
The sale is a great compliment to the professionalism that has been practised by the stud farm owned by the Van der Leegte family for many years. The proceeds from the transaction will be used to further strengthen the stud farm.

The fact that a highly successful show jumping athlete like Cian O'Connor made a bid for Iron is a confirmation of our stud farm's quality, the Van der Leegte family asserts. In the future, the family expects to breed and train more horses that can become prominent competitors in international show jumping.

An incredible horse.
Later this month in Paris, Cian O’Connor will be competing in his fourth Olympic Games. “I’m delighted to have Iron Z join my Karlswood team”, says Cian O'Connor. “He’s an incredible horse that I’ve followed for some time. Leopold and the team have done a superb job developing the horse and I’m really looking forward to starting slowly and building our partnership together over the coming months.”
VDL Groep Iron Z (VDL Groep Charisma Z x VDL Groep Dindy-Blue x Mr. Blue) was trained by equestrian Natalia Majchrowicz, who also competed on the show jumper up to class Z / 1.30m. Iron then moved to the stables of Leopold van Asten, who very successfully rode him at international competitions at 1.60m level. This combination has participated in a number of nations cup events in recent years. Recently, the combination has been successful at CSIO Sopot, CHIO Rotterdam and the prestigious CHIO Aachen.

Gold in Nations Cup Sopot!
This week Leopold van Asten is participating in CSIO Sopot 2024 where yesterday the Nations Cup was ridden.
After the cancellation of CSIO Sankt Gallen, everybody was eager to perform well and make a step closer to Paris.
This worked out very well. Leopold and VDL Groep Iron Z rode 2 clear rounds. With his colleagues, between them his brother Mathijs van Asten, also performing well they won the Nations Cup of Sopot Poland.

The weather is inviting. We recently welcomed a filly and a c**t in the breeding stables of Stoeterij Duyselshof. The filly is called VDL Groep Utopia. She is a daughter of VDL Groep Gloria (s. Nabab de Reve), and sired by El Salvador. The c**t we named VDL Groep Umberto. He is a son of VDL Groep Gold Lady (s. Kashmir van Schuttershof) and sired by Ermitage Kalone.

And a 2nd place for Leopold van Asten and VDL Groep Iron Z in the VDL Groep Prix , 3rd part of the Dutch Championships ridden at Concours Hippique Deurne at Green Valley Estate. With this result he was just out off the medals, reaching a good 4th place in the final championships ranking. What a great horse!

Another exciting class at Concours Hippique Deurne. Leopold van Asten and VDL Groep Kiara (s. Clearway) just won the Grand Prix of Deurne. He was riding a very fast jump-off on a super jumping horse! Great show!

On a rainy day VDL Groep Nino du Roton just made the sun shine for Leopold van Asten. They won the Grand Prix powered by Van Mossel ridden at CSI Lier Azelhof Springtour week III. Happy Easter!

This week VDL Groep Halloween (s. Clinton I) has made us happy, giving birth to her first off-spring, a son of Toèmme de Regor Z. This handsome c**t that we named Tristan, has made VDL Groep Beauty (s. For Pleasure) a granddam. Good to see this family expanding at Stoeterij Duyselshof.

Yesterday, 19th November 2023, our founder Wim van der Leegte has passed away at home totally unexpected.
We will always remember his love for the horses and his passion for show jumping, and do everything to achieve the results that would have made him so proud!

Today is the first day of JIM - Jumping Indoor Maastricht. This morning VDL Groep Murphy and VDL Groep Kenzo, ridden by Telmo Busca Roca, already jumped a clear round in the 1* competitions.
The afternoon started with a 4* class Two Phase Special. And what a start it was! Leopold was riding VDL Groep Urane de Talma safe and fast. Clear in 28,82 sec he won this class. Great to be in Maastricht again. Looking forward to the VDL Groep Prix tonight!
