Quality Purebred Cavies by MaJa's cavies & El Niño's cavies We have been breeding purebred cavies since the early '90.

We strive for a healthy and vital breedingstock and we show only with selected animals. We have won Best in Shows in 8 countries and many of our breedingstock has been spread all over the world. Our main breeds are Abyssinians, Self Cream, Self White, Self Black, Self Slate. Also Peruvians, Shelties, Coronets and Texels in a variaty of broken colours (but mainly black/white).

At the Breedspecific European show we also showed this baby (C class) Teddy. Our comeback with teddies since many many years of absence. She scored 96,5 but with huge competition and still a lot of developed to go. Can’t wait for her to grow up.

Our Europeanchampion Optimus (B class) Alpaca boar winning 3rd BIS at the European Breedspecific Cavyshow 2024 Horsens Denmark. Very special as his father Prime won 4th place BIS and was Europeanchampion in 2023.

Selecting for the future. Baby Abysinnians are probably the hardest to assess on the quality when young. We first do our judging when they are only few hours old, making notes and see how they look at four weeks. Best moment for their type and rosette placement. Now wait and see how rosette depth and ridges will develop 🤞🏻This little boy looks very promising 💙
