Deze pagina is voor mijn Miniature American Shepherd(s) (MAS, Mini Aussie), de avonturen die hij beleeft en toekomstige nestjes. Op dit moment heb ik één Miniature American Shepherd reu genaamd Koa. Koa is een Red Merle Miniature American Shepherd volledig genaamd Colors of Joy Koa. Hij is geboren op 15 january 2020 in Nederland. Aussie Joy (20 September 2013 in Nederland), zij stamt af van mooie

lijnen zoals Flintridge, Valhalla en Las Rocosa. Zijn vader is Midwest Dark at Kentshome (30 Mei 2018 in USA), hij stamt ook af van mooie lijnen zoals Lindsey's, Valhalla en Las Rocosa. Maar zijn lijnen ben ik nog aan het onderzoeken. Koa is ASDR, AKC en FCI geregistreerd. Samen trainen wij obedience, agility en showing. Wij hopen binnenkort aan onze eerste wedstrijden te kunnen mee doen. Ook zijn we bezig om trick titels bij de AKC te behalen. Koa woont samen met een kat waar hij beste vriendjes mee is, en kan ook heel goed overweg met andere honden. Koa is heel erg aanhankelijk, slim en vriendelijk. Hij kan super veel energie hebben als we buiten zijn, maar hij kan ook uren op de bank liggen slapen. Koa wordt op 25 november 2021 getest op HD, ED, Patella Luxatie en zijn ogen. Zijn DNA is ook afgenomen voor testen zoals MDR1, CEA, CMR1, DM, HSF4, CMO, NCL6 and NCL 8. Ik verwacht binnenkort dus de uitslag van deze testen te ontvangen. Ik zou graag met Koa nestjes willen gaan fokken. Op dit moment zal dat alleen zijn als Stud/dekreu. Maar ik hoop in de toekomst ook een Miniature American Shepherd teefje te kunnen kopen uit goede lijnen om zelf nestjes te gaan fokken. Maar dit is op dit moment nog niet mogelijk. Today we had a really fun day. First of all, it was Maui’s birthday🎉. She turned 2 years old! We love this lady so much❤️. And to celebrate we went to the Mini Aussie Event here in the Netherlands. With Maui I participated in the workshop agility and frisbee. And with Koa I participated in the agility competition. One run he had a disqualification unfortunately, but our second run we got first place! Proud of my dogs😍

Maui got tested for 2 new DNA tests for the Miniature American Shepherd through Purdue and we just got the results back. Super happy with these results!

It’s Koa’s birthday today🎉. 4 years old already. I remember the day I picked him up like it was yesterday, but at the same time I can’t imagine my life without him❤️. I love him so much.

Vorige week dinsdag was het eindelijk tijd voor Maui's laatste officiële test: de ellebogen. Daarna moesten we wachten tot gisterenavond voor de uitslag van de foto's. Dat blijft zo spannend.

Maar de uitslag was goed! ED vrij!

DNA: MDR1-drager, de rest vrij.

Zo blij met deze resultaten, want dit betekent dat onze plannen kunnen doorgaan voor de toekomst! Ik verwacht een hele mooie toekomst met haar. Nu is het alleen nog even wachten tot ze wat ouder en volwassener is voor ze mama mag worden. Excited!

Jaa, de afspraak voor Maui’s officiële ED test is eindelijk ingepland. Volgende week dinsdag gaan we de foto’s laten maken. Het blijft een spannend iets elke keer weer, zeker het wachten op de uitslag. Ik verwacht de uitslag van de ED maandag 18 december in de avond. Nog eventjes geduld dus

Afgelopen zaterdag een super leuke dag gehad bij Brabants Bont. Het was Koa’s eerste wedstrijd terug sinds zijn ongeluk vorig jaar. Wat een fijn gevoel was dat zeg om eindelijk weer een wedstrijd te kunnen lopen.
Koa’s eerste Jumping rondje was een mooie 7e plaats met 1 weigering en 31.88 s. Zijn tweede Jumping rondje was foutloos! De eerste op een wedstrijd! Dit was een mooie 6e plaats met 28.24 s. Daarna kwam het VP. Koa was erg afgeleid bij de start waardoor ik niet helemaal lekker liep en hem in de weg zat. Hierdoor een disk gelopen, nog steeds een prima tijd met 32.04. Maar na die sprong 3 wat liep hij goed en netjes! Ik zie hem zo erg vooruitgaan😊. Trots op hem❤️.

We hadden een gezellige dag met Yentremas - Miniature American Shepherds die zelf liepen in de small! Een van de pups van het laatste nestje kwam ook even langs. Zij is een nichtje van Maui en het maakt mij zo enthousiast voor Maui’s eerste nestje😊. Ook Jolanda van den Boogaard heeft mij gezelschap gehouden.

It is a very special day today! Exactly one year ago today we picked up Maui from her breeder in Budapest, Hungary. We took this picture right after I had met her. We love her so much and we are so happy she joined our family❤️.

We had a really great day yesterday! Maui had her first agility class and she showed so much potential. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for her. And then after, around 6, we met up with a photographer to take some pictures in the heide/heath with both dogs and I really cannot wait to see the results of that photoshoot. So stay tuned for that!

My mom Jolanda van den Boogaard and sister Bo Disco are walking the ‘Alpentocht’ for the Cliniclowns. They are leaving on Tuesday and the walk is on Saturday. They are walking 29 kilometers to the top of the Cormet de Roselend. Ofcourse we are supporting their effort in helping people in hospitals! We have been a bit silent on here the last 2 weeks because I was on vacation without the dogs for the first time, which was nerve-wracking. They stayed with my grandparent and I just got back today! Which means lots of gifts and cuddles for the dogs. I bought these Miami Dolphins jerseys for them so we had to try them on🙈. Petco, Petsmart and target were visited a couple times, so I have enough to give them😂.

Gisteren heeft Maui de afsluitingsles van het ringtraining jaar gewonnen. Kynologenclub 's-Hertogenbosch e.o. had een keurmeester uitgenodigd en we hebben een onderlinge wedstrijd gehouden. Het was heel erg gezellig. En wat ben ik trots op Maui en wat is ze al ver gekomen❤️

It is our house

Happy New Year everyone! I am sharing a video of a second a day for 2022. I look back on happy moments such as getting Maui but also some sad and heavy moments such as Koa’s accident and Viktor’s passing. I hope 2023 will bring good moments for us at Koa’s Ohana and everyone around us! I hope Koa will be fully healed in a couple weeks and we can start training again. We are hopeful for more agility competitions and dog shows! We will also be getting Maui fully tested when she is around 18 months, so I am hopeful for those tests as well so we will hopefully have our first litter in 2024. A lot to look forward to🤗.
