For each of our landscapes we developed an inspiring vision that shows our ambition for the next ten years. With a beautiful illustration by Jeroen Helmer for each of them we envision how nature and wildlife can return to the landscape!

For the newest landscape in our portfolio, the , we're looking at various ways to reforge the .

Fundación Española de Renaturalización-Rewilding Spain is working to restore trophic chains with scavengers like cinereous vultures playing a more influential role.

We also envision kulan, Tauros and horses creating mosaics of structurally varied vegetation and boosting biodiversity through . In addition, we hope to see the succesful return of the Iberian lynx in the landscape.

With the return of nature, we also see big potential for the Iberian Highlands as a beautiful nature tourism destination, stimulating jobs, income and awareness of rewilding across Spain.

Nature’s own ways

Nature knows best when it comes to survival and self-governance.

We can give it a helping hand by creating the right conditions – by removing d***s and dams to free up rivers, by reducing active management of wildlife populations, by allowing natural forest regeneration, and by reintroducing species that have disappeared as a result of man’s actions.

Then we should step back and let nature manage itself.

We want to demonstrate the benefits of wilder nature through the rewilding of diverse European landscapes, and to inspire and enable others to engage in rewilding by providing tools and practical expertise.
