Accessories to keep your pet cool this summer 😎

⛱ Parasol
Search for an umbrella or parasol that fits on a pram for kids. They're usually a universal fit and will keep the sun out of your dog or cat's eyes.

❄️ Cooling mat
There are a bunch of different types. Find one that will fit in your pet stroller and your dog is comfortable with.

💧 Portable water dish
Bring water with you in a bottle and a portable water dish or bowl. There are even water bottles that have a built in drinking bowl and are really easy to bring along with you!

🌬 Fan
Give your pet a bit of a breeze while sitting in their stroller. Also an invention for children's strollers: universal electric fans that fit on the frame of your stroller.

"We got the stroller so that at times when we go to cafes/restos, Milo will have his own space not just an area on the floor or on a chair.

Also when we will have a long day out, as we don’t want to over exert his hips and joints. And it’s easier to stroll around coz as a small dog, I’m kinda scared he might get stepped on.

How well a dog can tolerate warm temperatures depends on a number of factors.

☀️ The size of your dog
☀️ Your dog's breed
☀️ Your dog's age
☀️ Whether your dog is at a healthy weight

Keep an eye on symptoms such as excessive panting, fatigue and confusion. Prevent your dog from overheating! 🐶

On warm days, make sure water is available for your dog and give your dog a chance to rest in the shade when you are outdoors. ⛱

"The stroller is great, we take it on long walks and when the dogs get tired we carry them in it, both in summer because of the hot sidewalks and for comfortable shopping in the store, trolleybus rides and we also appreciate the comfort of us and the dog in cafes and restaurants.

The dogs are really looking forward to it, they are riding and looking around, we especially appreciated it in the city 🥰 "

When your dog has trouble walking, your first instinct might be to take them on less walks.

But you still want them to enjoy life and bring them with you on trips and outings. 🐾

A dog stroller, pet pram, dog trailer (or whatever you want to call it) allows your dog to join you on adventures 🐶

It is a mobility aid, as much as a walker, crutches and wheelchair would help you as a human when you have trouble walking.

Prevent boredom in your dog and take them outdoors with you, whenever you can ☺️

Summer is coming to Europe ☀️

And although some of us humans love the warm temperatures and being out in the sun, we must not forget to take care of our furry friends 🐶

Depending on your dog's age, breed and size, overheating may start at 20℃ 🌡

Signs and symptoms of overheating in dogs may include:

● Heavy breathing or excessive panting
● Drooling more than usual
● Slow to respond and sluggishness
● Body temperature over 40.5℃
● Vomiting
● Losing consciousness

Frank is 9 & was diagnosed with arthritis in his back legs when he was 8 & he started to struggle with longer walks.

Having the stroller is a massive help as it means we can still go to all his favourite places (like the beach) and he can just get in and out of the stroller when he wants a little rest or to nap on the way home!

The stroller is also great in warmer weather because I can place his cool mat inside and he can get in and cool down in the shade.

Without the stroller we would be very limited to where we can go." -

"We bought Frankies stroller as he recently had a rear leg amputation to have a cancerous mass cell tumour removed.

Frankie has had cancer for 2.5 years and has faced many treatments and amputation was our last option. But he has flourished since amputation and wants to walk and run as before but we have to make sure he has regular breaks so he doesn’t over do it as he does tire easily so this stroller is a great addition as he can still enjoy his walks and rest at the same time.

We shopped high and low for the perfect stroller for Frankie and this one is just perfect! It’s the right height and size for him to lie down in it and the suspension on this stroller if fabulous! We go on rough terrain walks he barely moves around in it thanks to the suspension, he looks comfortable all the time in this. And not only that it looks good too! This stroller is one of the nicer ones we have come across and he gets so many compliments in it too.

Patella Luxation a.k.a. knee dislocation

Go on, put your hand on your knee and try wiggle it around a bit. Now imagine your kneecap dislocating every time you go out for a walk. Can you feel the discomfort?

Patella Luxation in dogs is not uncommon and is generally hereditary and sometimes caused by trauma.

Both small and large breed dogs have prone to this condition. Some examples: Chihuahua, Maltese, Papillon, Akita, Great Dane and St. Bernard.

Symptoms include:
● A limp that comes and goes

● Bowlegged stance in the hind legs

● Hunched lower back

● Cracking or popping noises when the knee is bent

If you suspect your dog may experience knee dislocations, take them to the vet for a diagnosis.

"My doggie wears a brace to keep everything in place and therefore does not need surgery yet.
The stroller was initially bought so that he could go on holiday with me without any problems and not have to walk so much. Now I take the stroller everywhere I go, just not with the regular walks yet. If he walks for too long, his knee swells up and it hurts him, otherwise he is pain-free until the knee pops out."

"Whether his knee problems are congenital or due to trauma I cannot say. He came from a shelter and had knee problems right from the start. Because of his many scars, a nasty cause is possible."

"Many vets operate very easily on patellar luxation while you can also use a brace very well. You can just buy these or have them custom-made. Knee surgery and recovery is very intense for your animal and often well preventable with a brace. Of course, if the problems become too severe, the animal will need surgery. If in doubt, you can always get a second opinion.
My Jaimie is doing so well with his brace that he doesn't need surgery, which is nice for a nervous rescue."

"Where can I get the signs to put on my stroller?"

Many of our InnoPet users are incredibly resourceful 🙌

(on Instagram) is one of those people! She found velcro patches on Amazon and Etsy, which she attached to her InnoPet Premium Cozy dog stroller.

There are plenty of others who made their own signs out of cardboard, wood or fabric.

Get creative and make your own! Or find a local small business who can make/sew them for you.

For the lettering, consider texts like:

● Dog in rehabilitation
● Nervous dog
● Dog with osteoarthritis
● Dog in recovery

Hotel by the beach 🏖 Camping 🏕 or City trip this summer?

Here are 3 tips before taking your dog on summer holiday 🐶

1️⃣ When you go abroad with your pet, make sure they are chipped, vaccinated for Rabies, dewormed and have a passport!

Always check the govt. website of your destination, to learn all about the country's requirements.

2️⃣ Check that your accommodation is pet friendly, has ground floor rooms, a lift and a place to go potty.

3️⃣ Remember that your pet must be protected from the sun and the heat. Make sure they drink enough water, get the opportunity to rest in the shade and do not burn their paws on the warm ground.

Also keep in mind that the busy tourist attractions you wish to visit may not be suitable for your dog. They are easily overlooked in a crowd and stepped upon.

"The innopet trailer is brilliant. I was a complete sceptic thought it would be idiotic rubbish.
My partner said let's just try one . So i gave in and we got one .

My god its the best thing we did for our elderly dogs . They absolutely love it . They walk for a bit and then god back in the buggy .

We have now gone back to being able to take our fur babies everywhere with us again. It folds down fits in the car easily. They seem very comfortable and sometimes just lie down and go to sleep.

It is so manoeuvrable its brilliant. Well vented . The rain cover fits perfect and is absolutely brilliant. I love the hand to push with is height adjustable.

Best thing i have bought to help my fur babies. Its amazing and im a complete convert ."

"Since our little dog is getting a bit older and stiffer and we don't want to leave her home alone more often, we wanted to buy a dog stroller.

Since InnoPet is so popular, we bought the InnoPet Avenue. The box the stroller came in was very handy.
The stroller itself was super quick and easy to assemble and the stroller looks very nice and solid.

But...will our dog want to sit in the stroller? We first put her in the stroller at home (with a treat in it). She looked at us happily. Then carefully wheeled inside for a bit, but there was a weird noise.

We looked in the stroller to see what this could be, guess what? Our dog was wagging violently and her tail was hitting the back of the hood every time! Dog happy and owners very happy too. We are going to have a wonderful time!"

You're too late if you hear your dog whimpering from pain as it is very rare for dogs to yelp or cry out with chronic pain.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common cause of chronic pain in dogs. It affects 80% of dogs over the age of 8 years old, and potentially up to 35% of dogs of all ages.

Arthritis simply means “inflammation of the joints”, but in truth the disease is much more complex than this.

Arthritis is commonly and mistakenly described as a disease of the cartilage of a joint. It is in fact a disease that affects all structures within the joint, and if left unmanaged, it can lead to complete joint failure.

5 signs to look for are:

🐾 Slowing down on walks or being reluctant to go for a walk

🐾 Hesitating when jumping up or down, or using stairs

🐾 Behavioural changes such as becoming more reactive to dogs or people

🐾 Difficulty posturing to go to the toilet

🐾 Licking the joints

Our French Bull Beau, sits, lies and sleeps wonderfully in it.

We recommend placing only 1 pet in your stroller for the following reasons:

🐾 The product was designed with carrying only 1 pet in mind
🐾 Less chance of exceeding the maximum weight capacity
🐾 When your pets 'fight' they may damage the stroller

But hey, it is your stroller and we cannot tell you what to do with it. So go ahead and try and fit 16 chihuahuas in your dog stroller. Just promise us to send us a picture 😉
