Europa wil binnenkort de jacht op de majestueuze wolf openen. We hebben nog maar een paar weken om te voorkomen dat beschermingsmaatregelen waar decennialang aan gewerkt is, door de landbouwlobby worden weggeveegd. Een spannende stemming zal het lot van de wolven bepalen, en als wij massaal onze stem laten horen en hun bescherming opeisen, kan dat een enorm verschil maken -- teken en deel dit nu.

Europa wil de bescherming van wolven beperken. Dat mogen we niet laten gebeuren! Laten we Europese leiders deze duidelijke boodschap sturen: we moeten samenleven met de wolven in plaats van hen te doden!

Ok update on the Thomas Mountain Wolf hybrid pack of 15 that was dumped by a breeder.
Please read and share this post, tag anyone and everyone, I do not care. This information has to be out there.
All agencies have been notified USFS is gathering their resources and are going to try and catch them. They will try to catch before cull. But reality is we cannot have them on our mountain. Public needs to be aware of a couple facts here. While there's a good group of us with good intentions, that only got in contact with each other due to my original Post, there's also plenty of people with bad intentions. There's literally tweakers, and back yard breeders trying to catch these beautiful creatures on the mountain, right now.
With that said. The path to hell is paved with good intentions. Mine included.
Please do NOT place traps out. ESPECIALLY if you're not going to Man it and watch over it 24hrs a day and be in vicinity. All you're doing is trapping it for people that should not have these animals.
We've reached out to rescues, wild life sanctuaries etc and tbh everyone here, who has knowledge, doesn't really know how to deal with the size of the Pack, the Temperament, etc... keyboard warriors, you're not helping either.
If you want to help, share this post, get it to the media, get attention on these back yard breeders, get it to the right people.
If the right people would have read this by now, the situation would be handled.
And for those thinking, let's leave them there, they are between camp sites. While they aren't aggressive, they don't fear humans. If they some how survive, and worse, thrive on the mountain, it poses a real threat to people. Do we need someone's child being taken by a pack of hybrids on our mountain? Or decimate the ecology and kill deer and start going after livestock?
So please share, get talk to the right people, before the wrong people get them.

I hate to make this post but... as much as I love this area, the stray dog issue, as a dog lover, is wearing on me... tonight I decided to do a night run up Thomas mountain.. and I encountered a pack of stray dogs.. 10-15 of them.. (picture only shows those that didnt run) and there were coyotes mixed in.. but for sure there's at least 4-5 huskies up Thomas mountain, and a couple live stock dogs, what ever breed they are... I would love to help them, but I for sure can't house them and idk what to do... some of the huskies look to be

Je n'en reviens toujours pas d'avoir eu la chance de croiser le regard de ce loup à plusieurs reprises. C'est un animal tellement ancré dans notre imaginaire collectif. Quand on commence à faire de la photographie, on rêve de le rencontrer. Je me souviens encore de mes visites avant l'aube au parc national de la Jacques-Cartier lorsque j'étais adolescent. J'y croisais des orignaux à chaque fois, mais j'espérais toujours voir un loup. Pourtant, jamais je ne l'ai croisé!

Plus le temps passe, plus l'espoir et les rêveries de cette rencontre se transforment en une trame de fond silencieuse : "si je le croise, tant mieux". Ce loup n'est pas le premier que je rencontre. J'en ai vu des dizaines et des dizaines. Parfois furtivement, parfois de très loin, et même parfois morts ! Mais chaque rencontre avec eux est très différente des autres animaux. Il y a une intelligence dans leur comportement, dans leur regard, qui se connecte avec notre être.

Peut-être est-ce parce que j'ai des chiens que je ressens cela, néanmoins l'histoire des loups et la nôtre sont liées depuis des millénaires.

Je suis en train de faire ma dernière sélection pour les images de mes trois calendriers de 2025, et je dois dire que ce sera une édition assez unique en termes de rareté et de beauté du Québec. J'ai hâte de vous les présenter ! Cette image en fera d'ailleurs partie.

Unfortenately our boy is very sick. I went to a good friend of Ray and me because he loves her and thrust her and from her we took him directly to the vet for blood tests, X-Ray etc He has high white bloodcells, high Neutrophils. Temperature Ray 14:30 / 40.0 degrees 15:30 / 40.0 degrees 20:37 / 40.1 degrees 0:00 / 38.8 degrees 05:50 / 40.4 degrees 08:30 / 40.3 degrees He is now on antibiotics and Metacam. He really doesnt feel well. Niestety nasz chłopak jest bardzo chory. Poszedłem do dobrego przyjaciela Raya i do mnie, ponieważ ją kocha i zabraliśmy go bezpośrednio do weterynarza na badania krwi, prześwietlenie itp. Ma wysoki poziom białych krwinek, wysoki poziom neutrofili. Promień temperatury 14:30 / 40,0 stopni 15:30 / 40,0 stopni 19:30 / 40,5 stopnia 20:37 / 40,1 stopnia 0:00 / 38.8 stopnia 05:50 / 40.4 stopnia 08:30 / 40.3 stopnia Obecnie przyjmuje antybiotyki i Metacam. Naprawdę nie czuje się dobrze.
