Hello and happy August. We are back! It is Adventure time once more in the woods around Oslo. It is hard to put into words quite how lovely it was to catch up with so many of our doggy friends today. We were welcomed during pickups not only with wagging tails, but full on body dances. It was a full party atmosphere in the vans up to the walks....

And just like that today wraps up the first 6 months of 2024 but also the doggy School year of 23/24. It has absolutely flown by in a blur of adventure, fun and a lot of deep snow last Winter. Thank you to all our amazing dogs and customers for making this possible. I will honestly and happily admit that our Walkers are tired....

Happy Thursday and welcome to our penultimate blog before the Summer break. With the sun shining and the temperatures soaring we had a little surprise for two of our groups today. One of our former Walkers who moved on to new adventures about five months ago was back to see her old furry friends. I was contacted by Veronica about two weeks ago already, asking if she could take out some of her old gangs today....

You may well remember that a few months ago I wrote a few blog posts regarding the amount of trees being chopped down in Maridalen. Some of these areas were pretty much completely cleared of beautiful pine trees, leaving an open, scorched shrub-like landscape. Well this afternoon I decided that enough time had gone past and that I needed to go and explore in depth what we had lost....

This is the question I was thinking about this afternoon. I struggled to come up with a better alternative. Oslo absolutely makes a great case for itself. Fjord and forest stretching as far as the eye can see in all directions, it is essentially enclosed and inundated with nature. Hike, run, cycle, ski, sail, swim.... The options for adventures in Oslo are endless....

Hello and happy Monday to you all. We are officially into the last walking week before Summer holidays and loving the sunshine. But what I am extremely grateful for is what I experienced over the weekend with an outpouring of lovely and kind messages before and after my trail marathon (Nordmarka Skogsmaraton) on Saturday. Any of you who have previously run a marathon will understand that it is not always easy and pleasant....

Do not worry this is not another blog about the virtues of suncream. However I will say that when I dropped my kids off at kindergarten and applied suncream to them, that I also slapped on a good deal of factor 50 on my face, neck and arms as today was going to be scorchio! Today we ended the walking week in style. A little bonus was the return to our walks of my very own dog, Minttu. It has been over one month since she was able to join me on my adventures, due to firstly being on heat, and then a freak accident whilst at the cabin for 17th May celebrations. The accident occurred whilst we were out having a family walk and Minttu lost her focus whilst crossing a cattle grid....

Did you feel it coming today? Around lunchtime the air became super heavy and charged. The wind picked up and as the dark clouds rolled in it went from daylight to dusk within seconds. As we enter the final weeks before the Summer holidays, and one last push towards adventures and exploration, we are also thinking about Season 2024/25. Generally our yearly walking cycles start post Summer, much like a school year. Last night when I was out on my evening walk I bumped into one of my neighbours who is also a customer. Naturally I stopped to have a chat and say hello to their gorgeous dog. We chatted happily for a few minutes and then when the time came to walk in different directions the customer turned to me, looking me in the eye, and told me how impressed and happy they were with the walks and attention we give to their dog....

We knew it early this morning.... We were going to get wet. You can choose your own approach: Enjoy the rain or fail in trying to stay dry. Gore Tex helps a bit but not against a full downpour onslaught. The doggies were split in their opinions. Some loved it, splashing, running and playing..... Others decided to walk through the rain, on a mission to complete the walk and return to the warm and dry van....

I am not quite sure how it happened but I suddenly looked up the other day and it was June already! Time certainly flies when you are having fun, adventures and exploring with great dogs. This year we will be taking Summer holidays and closed for walks from and including 1st July until Sunday 4th August 2024. With almost all your dogs away and on holidays for July we have tried to coincide our holidays with yours....

After the long Winter and then the varied weather of late, we would be the very kind recipients of any unwanted items. Your dogs and us will not care if these items are ripped, tattered or just plain ugly....

Today marks our 11th birthday. Back in 2013 I remember turning up to walk the beautiful German Shepherd, Tassen. We had a fantastic walk and he was to join me on walks for another nine years until he passed. Today and 11 years on from that very first walk, I hope you will allow me to feel proud of how far we have come and the positive impact we have made on Oslo dogs....

Wow! What a start to the walking week. This afternoon we were treated to one of the craziest short storms that I have experienced in my 12 years of living in Oslo. As luck would have it we were finished just before the worst of the storm hit this afternoon. We had a little bit of lightning pre-walk and I had delayed the start of the adventure so as the dogs could be as comfortable as possible....

I thought that today I would cover a topic which I get asked a lot during first meetings with potential dogs and owners.... Binding period and cancellations / changes. People are always surprised but it is super simple: No binding period! If, for some reason, you choose that you no longer need walks or that you will be moving to a new area outside of our pick ups and drop offs, then you are able to end your walks immediately....

We hope that you have all had the most wonderful extra long weekend. The combination of Norwegian national day and then Pinse yesterday allowed for a rare four-day weekend. Tomorrow is Norwegian national day. It is looking like we are going to have glorious sunshine with which to celebrate the public holiday. Many of you will be heading downtown to watch kids go in procession in front of the royal family. I imagine it is a very proud moment for many parents. And in a few years I will be partaking, watching my children happily waving to the crowds....
