Such a versatile, young unicorn. 🦄 Earlier this month he delivered only clear rounds at his first indoor show, this weekend he won his debut in LA:3 dressage. ✨

But what I appreciate the most, is his willingness to work and the effort and joy he puts into every single ride. That’s what makes our horses and the damline so special. They love people and the job they were bred for - in my humble opinion.

⭐️ 5TH IN BREEDERS OPEN ⭐️

S.E. Cordia Z (2018, Copycat Z x I’m Special de Muze) had on unlucky rail in the finals, but still got a 5th place in Breeders Open for 4yo. She is now on a well deserved - and much appreciated - break and we are so excited to see what the future holds for her. Thank you and for a lovely weekend. 💕

S.E. Zendaya (2021, Montender x Diarado x Corland) has qualified for the National Championship. The feedback from the judges was a motivational boost, even though she found the setting a bit overwhelming and did not show her true colours. Yet so, her freejumping once again confirmed she is worth waiting for. ⭐️

We also brought with us S.E. Qanndia (2023, Qannando B&V x Diarado x Corland) whom despite being heavily affected by growth 😔 - and thus not getting the results we know she deserves - got great marks for her type and was referred to as a beautiful foal.

Last week Sandra Corell and Estelle competed at the biggest horse show in Norway, Kingsland Oslo Horse Show - host of the first leg of the FEI Longines World Cup. Such an exciting moment for a small scale breeder - thank you! ✨

Also claiming the title «Mare of The Year 2022» at the National Finals by Norwegian Warmblood, S.E. Estelle (-12, Favorit Ask x Crelido) is actually the second offspring out of our first bred horse, S.E. Chloé.

Wow! Sandra Corell and S.E. Estelle (-12, Favorit Ask x Crelido) had a fantastic performance at Sandefjord Horse Show on Saturday with a clear round in the 1.40 - only seven combinations out of 44 managed that. The duo also got a 4th place in the 1.30 on Friday, so a really good show for Sandra and Estelle. Well done! 👏🏻😄😍

S.E. PIROUZ CLEAR AT LIER HORSE SHOW

For me, there is an added excitement when the first offspring by the second generation broodmare has entered the show arena for the very first time. Second time on an outdoor arena, first time away from home - it was a clear round for S.E. Pirouz (Tobajo Picez x Diarado) at Lier Horse Show in Drammen. Andrea Sundal is giving him confidence and I’m very excited to see what this combination can bring to the table. 👏🏻🤩

It is with great sadness I have received news that Bart van Poucke has left us, way too early. Bart was a very famous breeder in Belgium, and I got to know him just a little bit as the breeder and owner of Qannando B&V (Kannan x Emerald) whom we used this year for our mare S.E. Miss Pogany (Diarado x Corland). I have to say he pretty much made it impossible not to choose his stallion. I did not only choose Qannando, I also chose Bart!

He was the kindest, most enthusiastic og involved stallion owner I have ever been in contact with - always service minded. Simply outstanding!

It's sort of comforting that my last message to him earlier this month was a happy one - to confirm that my mare is now expecting a foal by his amazing stallion. He replied as he always did, with great happiness and enthusiasm.

Rest in peace. 🥀

HOW MUCH FOR A FOAL?
Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who sends a text to just ask for the price. The person who calls and hears the price and says “I can buy a cheaper foal somewhere else”. I'll talk to you too; the person who doesn't care about papers because I want “just a pet or a happy hacker”.
No foal is “just a pet and a happy hacker”.
Behind every foal is a BREEDER. A serious breeder does not breed foals without documents that protect the integrity of the breed.

Registration papers are records of ancestry documenting the bloodline and enabling you to investigate possible health problems in your lineage.
When you tell a breeder you don't care about the papers, just tell them you don't care about the foal’s health, you just want the cheapest thing you can find!
If you choose to buy a foal from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for every foal’s health.

This breeder will skip holidays, and family gatherings , miss sleep for weeks on end, and most of their personal time is dedicated to their horses and their well being. The truly passionate breeder, who loves what they breed, puts all of their time into it. Not only for foals that are sold, but also for every customer who owns a piece of their heart and is now a member of their large family. Breeders worry about their babies after leaving and want the best outcome for purchaser and foal.

A breeder will get his hands dirty, often covered in everything that comes with birth. Because that's what life is all about... in the midst of birth and death is life. For every foal that is sold there are ones that don’t make it and a little bit of the breeders heart breaks along with the foal. A breeder conducts ultrasounds, analytics, emergency vet calls, vaccinations, registrations, researches pedigrees, deworming, hoof trims and provides the base start for the future of the foal.

Last but not least, a breeder CHOOSES the family who is lucky enough to have one of their foals. Yes, you read correctly.

A real breeder chooses who they sell to.
There really is no compensation that can offset the investment a breeder has made.

A good breeder has other criteria for those who want to continue their bloodline, why? Because breeding isn't a responsibility to take lightly, it's a lifestyle choice reserved ONLY for the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.

Since a foal is never “just a pet” he/she is the legacy of the breeder, a low level eventer, an amateur show jumper, a career broodmare, the pony that wins for your son or daughter, a member of the family, someone's whole world!

A lifestyle and commitment many cannot understand.
