We're training on getting comfy in the whelpingbox. 🥰
She is kind of restless, she is quite big and warm so it's probably hard to settle down on anything but a cold floor or cold ground 😅

If she could choose I bet she would have her puppies outside in the dogyard, but the puppies are going to be born inside in the house with us. 🙌

They are going to get used to a family's everyday noise, they are going to get used to being handled by grownups and children. They are going to get used to a day/night routine and so on. 🥰

But for now, we just wait.
We sleep and cuddle, even eat and drink inside the whelpingbox 🥰

Exiting times ahead, here at Camipato Malamutes. 🤩
Nowa has been bred to handsome Alfa to 🥰

It was love at first sight, and now we're counting days until we can do a ultrasound 🤞😇

Nowa will hopefully be due around June 2024, but there will definitely be an update when we know more. ❤️

Amazing stroll in Bergen, walking the new Løvstien.
Lots of people and dogs. Almost 13 km in or feet and paws 🤩

Nowa did awesome ❤️

She enjoyed her supper outside while we were chilling in the hottub. 🤩

Out enjoying the sun in Bergen ☀️
It was also , and there were people everywhere. 🤭

Nowa got loving eyes, hugs, sneaky petting from bypassers, kids and grownups saying "awwwww" and a few people being stubborn and trying to actual discuss with me - that i doooo have a husky 🤦‍♀️🤣 Yeah, no!

All in all a great day, over 16 kilometers in our legs and paws today, so now its horizontal position on the couch 🥰

We visited , were Nowa had her Valentine photography taken, got a goodiebag and got a loooot of "awwww's" and "woooow what a gorgeous dog" from bypassers 😅

Denne teksten blir på Norsk.

Det har plaget meg litt i det siste, siden jeg ser at dette blir ett økende "fenomen" blandt vår rase. Flere og flere Alaskan Malamuter viser Alopeci symptomer.

Når den vakre fjærhalen forsvinner.. 🥺 For det begynner der nemlig, så mer trøtthet, kosete og vektøkning.

Det gjorde den nemlig på Kaiyuh, etter hennes siste kull. Jeg tok tester i hytt å pine på henne, alle tester kom tilbake som "normale"... Eller, innefor normale verdier.

Så, hunden min var iht prøver, ikke syk, men det var jo tydelig at hun var det. 😭 Vi mistet henne dessverre til jurkreft 2021. 😭❤️

Men, det viser seg, etter samtaler med flere veterinærer som har fordypet seg i den polare metabolismen, at vår rase begynner å vise symptomer på stoffskifte lenge før den faller ned i verdiene som tilsier at de har lavt stoffskifte. Jeg mener å huske at de øverste verdiene på et stoffskifte-problem skal ligge på 8 mmol, men polare raser viser symptomer på dette allerede ved 10-12 mmol.

Dette er ikke en "farlig" sykdom for en hund å bære, den kan være arvelig, men det bør behandles for hundens del.

Viser polarhunden din disse tegnene så besøk vet.

She was eager for a mountaintrip to Høgafjellet, i dont know the route but i've heard that the route is not super suited for dogs.. sooo, maybe next time, with a guide and a detour 😅
