HICAST The Pioneer Agricultural & Veterinary academic institution. HICAST is the first private agricultural college of Nepal, situated in the capital city.

Agriculture is the mainstay of more than two third of Nepal’s population; and it is the engine of national economic growth and livelihoods security. It was established in the leadership of Dr Binayak Prasad Rajbhandari in 2000 to respond to the need for specialized human resources in agricultural and veterinary sectors. The college has been substantially contributing to the attainment of sustainab

le livelihoods, agricultural and rural development by producing both theoretically and practically well educated graduates. HICAST's faculty members are highly qualified with national and international experience. The college uses interactive and practical learning approaches to give students a balanced education that will benefit them throughout their careers. Since its launch, the college has produced more than 1000 graduates, and many have pursued further education at the master’s and PhD levels. We are pleased to invite researchers, scholars, and professionals to submit their original research articles, reviews, and short communications for publication in the Nepalese Journal of Agricultural Sciences (NepJAS). The journal aims to provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge in the field of agricultural sciences, focusing on innovative research, techniques, and advancements related to agriculture, agronomy, horticulture, veterinary science, and sustainable farming practices.

Submission Guidelines:
Manuscripts should be submitted through email or through our online submission system.
Please ensure that your manuscript adheres to our journal's formatting and citation guidelines.

New students were given insights about the Agriculture and veterinary undergrad courses as well as orientations about campus environment and academic cultures. New students voluntarily signed the code of conducts of college. Students were welcomed by Principal, academic heads and other administrative staff.

The second round table meeting of Student Quality Circle, an integral entity of Internal Quality Assurance Directorate of HICAST concluded today. Student’s Class Representatives from different faculties actively participated in the meeting. A guest lecture was organized on December 7, 2024 at HICAST on “Agriculture and Meteorology: Application of Vayudrishti, a Monitoring Device for Atmospheric Gases, Temperature, Humidity, and Pollutants with 30 Years of Climate Data”. Mr. Shakriya Pandey, as a guest speaker delivered his insights on use of
Meteorological data on real time agriculture practices.

His innovation on ‘Vayudrishti’ digital device and its applications in the ground level combining satellite data have significantly enriched the knowledge of our academic community, inspiring innovation and practical applications in the field of sustainable agriculture and meteorology.
